According to Taylor Twellman Eric Palmer Brown has been signed by Manchester City. Not sure on price tag.

From a financial standpoint, go ahead and make that money. From a development standpoint, this is CCV all over again.....(probably)

He'll get loaned out almost immediately. The hope is that he gets games in another European league.

I hope it ends up like Miazga's situation rather than CCV's situation.

It is unlikely he can get a work permit so he will probably be loaned out to a team on the continent.

Don't be surprised, though, if he is played more as a dm than a cb.

How much money (annual) do you think they offer for a situation like this? I just want to get the sense of the financial lure.

Over $342,576 would be my guess (5,000 x 52 then multiplied by 1.32) I estimate this on what most first contracts are for the top clubs. If there were other suitors, it will probably be more.

Using Man City's salary guide I took the low man on the totem pole, Patrick Roberts, who is making 10,000 a week and is on loan at Celtic (Roberts was part of the same Fulham academy as Hyndmann). Roberts got a little above the norm because there was a bidding war.

I'd agree with Know Nothing. Based on similar research, he's going from $75k in MLS to somewhere in the $300-500k range (helped by the GBP/USD rate too). If he ever consistently broke into the Man City bench (not even playing), he'd probably negotiate up to the $600-800k range. If he starts playing, all bets are off!

It's a shame that all the salaries are non-disclosed in so many leagues. A lot of moves that people gripe about are probably no-brainers for the players. Even if EPB's legs both fall off next year, he probably will have earned a $2M contract (I think he signed a 4 yr deal). At $75k in MLS, he'd have to play for 25 years!!

CCV was brought up from the academy. EPB is being bought as a "product".

If you're afraid to fail, then you shouldn't play at all.

Or keep it safe and stay domestically. But for whatever reason SKC wasn't giving him time. Go figure, Klinsmann statements on Pulisic and professional time and such...

He was truly one of the watchable players in the under 20. Someone we should have been watching grow like Arriola, McKennie, .. hell even the remnants of Zach Pfeffer

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how this epb situation epitomizes what is wrong with mls. In the last 12-18 months both juvuntus and Porto (if not others) made bids to pay mls to bring in epb. Juvuntus's bid was confirmed to be at least $1 million. Mls turned those down. Then skc doesn't play him (17 games combined over 3 years) and mls loses him for free to Europe. How did mls/skc not make a profit off this guy. I'm not sure about most clubs but if I had a team offer $1mill for a guy I considered a backup I'd sell in a second. It's moves like this that will prevent mls from catching MX, holland, Portugal in the league rankings.
