With Villa's call up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers does this say

More about the improved quality of MLS? Spain feels comfortable enough that they can go to him based on MLS form. Or that Spain is not comfortable with a younger youth option and will go with the old man who can still score goals from anywhere on the pitch?

That Europe has as many Scrubs as Concacaf? Italy of course is a World power, but Lichtenstein? He is only their to play a minnow?

Are Spain fans saying Villa almost as if we would for Wondo. (Yes I know the comparison from play is way off, but ages are about the same)

At this juncture Spain know they are almost to the finish line. I think it speaks mainly to Villa's form. I think it may also be a subtle insult to Italy who has not recalled Giovinco.

Diego Costa out of form or time in starting 11.

Not ready to convert some left or right forwards/wingers into forwards like Ascensio.

Probably opportunity more than anything. If there was a less talented Villa, keeping David's age and if Costa was playing, David Villa probably wouldn't have been called.

Keep up with the latest moves by Americans around the world during the January transfer window.
