It looks like he became the starter RB for Levante.

I think it will depend on where the game(s) are going to be played. If in Europe I would expect the team to be comprised of predominantly European Based players. Easily assembled with minimal travel. If the match(s) are played in the Americas the coaches/clubs may agree not to call in some of the players who are just starting to break into their clubs starting XI, as a way to insure they maintain their spot on the club level.

Moore's got the month of December to convince Levante to not buy a RB.

I haven't been posting frequently lately but it is really refreshing to see that the most recent threads on YA are about Shaq Moore, Haji Wright, Julian Green, Weston McKennie and Antonee Robinson.

Twitter commentary on Moore throughout game:

"
Shaq Moore somewhat holding his own 10 mins in vs Barca

1-0 Barca off a Messi volley. Moore's mark gets the header assist

Moore blocks Alba's cross. Got back to ball with speed

Moore somewhat strips Messi in open space. That was impressive

Moore crosses, gets cleared, shot goes out for a corner

Through ball from Barca gets tippy toed by Moore, cleared by Levante

Moore uncomfortable turning upfield with the ball, clears it, gets to Dembele who shoots, Moore gets beaten to the rebound by Suarez who shoots it over the goal

Moore hits a through ball in his own half to spark an attack. Very clean and quick ball out of the back

Moore ends the half with 3 misplaced passes and a clearance in the final 5 mins

Shaq makes great sliding a joe in box on Iniesta

Moore shoots but saved.

Great save by Ter Stegan on Moore. One of Levante's only chances on goal

Moore stops a 1-2 in the box, good defending

Moore makes a great tackle on $60M dollar Gomes upfield that goes out for throw in

Moore makes ANOTHER sliding tackle in the box. Excellent

Moore with a great clearance out of the 6 yard box

Moore tracks back 80 yards and sheppards a through ball to Messi out of play

Shaq Moore held his own against one of the best in the world. I was a skeptic but Moore proved to have fight. Played well, made tackles in the box and a great shot on goal.

"

According to WhoScored, Shaq was given the highest rating of anyone on his team: 7.0

Moore will definitely compete with Yedlin for starting minutes.

One of the things that hurt us the most during the last cycle, was the lack of depth in the defense.
1) When Yedlin was sidelined with injury/suspensions we didn't have much in the way of options....Chandler was in the dog-house, Lichaj wasn't considered, Cameron was needed at RCB, & Zusi proved to not be good enough.
2) When our CB pairing of Cameron & Brooks were sidelined we were mostly left with incapable options...Besler was acceptable, but not stellar. Omar constantly proved he was too error prone to be a starter. Or Hedges who proved in the GC he's not up to this level. Other options were ignored once Bruce took over (Miazga, CCV, Zimmerman, Birnbaum).
3) We never really had a Left Back option, just a rotation of lack-luster players. Be it converted LCB's (Ream, Besler), Retired players (Beasley), etc.... Villafana was decent, but didn't really establish himself as anyone who'd solidified himself into the XI.

Hopefully this cycle we'll have some real quality & depth emerge.
RB: Yedlin, Moore, Chandler, Lichaj, Adams, Lima, Olosunde
RCB: Miazga, CCV, EPB, Birnbaum
LCB: Brooks, Glad, Zimmerman, EPB
LB: Villafana, Robinson, D. Acosta, Lima, Saief

Was it lack of depth or just really bad management from Bruce for ignoring younger abroad or dual players?

The second. You bring the youth in, you get depth!
