Know Nothing - I agree that the likely course is for a loan deal in January with a potential sale in the summer "IF" he does well while on loan.
IMO Kyle could be a nice addition to the USMNT pool. He's a right footed midfielder who can be deployed centrally or possibly on the wing. While he is on the small side (like many of our emerging players....Scott, Gooch, Saief, Manneh, etc...) he could be a good option to play of Pulisic, making it more difficult for opponents to key in on Pulisic; or as a backup if someone else can raise to claim the RM spot.

A roster I'd like to see:

-----------Wood---------
--Saief---Scott/Pulisic--Pulisic/Scott--
-----McKennie--Gonzalez-----
-TBD---Brooks---Miazga---Yedlin-
---------Steffen-----------

Bench: Parks, Adams, Acosta, Amon, Gooch/Arriola, CCV, Glad, Moore, LB-TBD, Morris, Striker-TBD, Horvath, Gonzalez

Apparently he is not baulking at signing the extension because of money but rather playing time. It is good that he is seeing the writing on the wall and wants to prove himself as early as possible.

He is the most direct replacement for Fabregas but they instead opt to change the formation if Fabregas is out.

For CM depth Chelsea has a full England intl out on loan, a full Serbian intl out on loan, a full Dutch intl out on loan and two other England intls out on loan.

For clubs like Chelsea it's a numbers game....They buy up young talented prospects, loan them out to determine which will be stars, than sell those who don't live up to their expectations.
Actually hope that this winter he'll be loaned out....Maybe to the same club Miazga plays for....get some real 1st team experience than signs for someone this summer.

He won't go to Vitesse with Miazga as Chelsea have already sent two young midfielders there and one is starting to flourish.

I think by next wednesaday we may have a better indication of what the rest of the season will be like for him. If he plays in the PL2 match against Man City on monday he will likely be out on loan or even sold in January. If he doesn't play in that match and is on the bench or starts in next wednesdays Carabao Cup match with Nottingham Forest then things aren't any clearer.

If I were to guess, I suspect Chelsea will recall a few midfielders on loan (Lewis Baker at middlesborough comes to mind) and Scott will be off on loan.

He played in the PL2 match against Man City yesterday, so it looks likely he will go somewhere in January. My guess is he will be sold (judging by the article below, the only mention of his play was negative, which is unusual for the Chelsea web page).

All that remains is whether or not he plays in the FA cup match Jan 6 vs. Norwich (3 days after a PL match against Arsenal).

Leicester City reportedly likes him, but no word on whether they like like him.

Well seems as though the opportunity to move is there for Scott now that Chelsea have signed Ross Barkley from Everton and recalled another loan player.

Well something will certainly happen I think. His contract runs out in June 2020 and rumors are he has not signed an extension that was offered. Chelsea won't let him go for free so they will either loan him now and put him in the shop window for the summer or just sell him now as he clearly is down the depth chart.

The rumors said Huddersfield and Leicester were interested in him. At the time of the rumors he could not have been loaned to Huddersfield because they already had a Chelsea player on loan (apparently a team can only loan one player to another team in the same league). Chelsea recalled the loan of that player earlier this week so Scott can now be loaned to Huddersfield.

Personally, though, I see him being loaned to a lower level league or a European team.

Played 87 mins for the U-23's against a full strength Portsmouth squad. From match reports it seems he had a decent enough match.

It's kind of funny in reading the match reports from the Portsmouth and Chelsea websites how they differ and you can get a sense when you read both how much Chelsea are starting to hype some players.

On the bench for their 5th round FA Cup game against Hull City. Hope he gets a chance to play.

Chelsea sub and it's a debut for 20-year-old Kyle Scott. The midfielder replaces Cesc Fabregas.

Twitter said he was very nervous (played a lot of back passes and had plenty of turnovers, early on, but got a bit more comfortable and more tidy in possession). Subbed into the game at the 62nd minute. That is a nice chunk of playing time. Hopefully will be loaned (sorta like a CCV situation).
