It's good to for MLS and the Galaxy to keep a hold of Donovan, and really it's good for Donovan as well.

Excited to see some of the USMNT best players in mid season form at the WC instead of end of the season form.

with all the recent MLS resignings / returns of USMNT-caliber players, this WC, more than any other previously, will be viewed as a gauge to evaluate MLS progress.

potentially double digit MLS representation on WC roster... if things go well it will speak well of the league... if things dont go well, some folks will see it as evidence of a disturbing trend,,,

To me, it's a good thing to have more Americans (and Canadians). The more the better. If you get a few high priced foreign players that play well here (like Keane as opposed to Marquez) that's fine... but the backbone of the league needs to be the American player.

I don't think the quality is there all around for this to be the case, yet. It's there at the top, but the league has to continue to raise the standard of play at the bottom.

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
