Lichaj's continuous strong performance's will get him the call. Klinsmann just calls up players he is familiar with that don't necessarily deserve it. (Williams, ream, etc..) Williams playing in the same league as Lichaj...but he got the call bc he is german-american and Jurgen helped ream get his move to Bolton.. He just hasn't had anything to do with lichaj and got a bad impression of him from his unsuccessful season at AV.

Lets just hope he gets the call and I think he will make the most of his opportunity.

There is one glaring problem with the OP. He said that no one else is playing RB for the club...

Geoff Cameron is the starting RB for Stoke...an EPL team (a level higher than what Lichaj plays).

Now I know that Cameron is a DC/DM for the USA, I'm just saying that there are others who play RB for their clubs.

Spector has been injured for most of this year (and still is not playing)

Lichaj is a right back. That's his position and Notthingham Forest are set to be a true contender for promotion this year.

Evans is a hard worker and a good footballer. He is a midfielder who can play okay as a right back but it is still not his best position.

I was being facetious.

It's just annoying to see these posts about Player X, who starts in some low caliber league, will save the NT and the entire USSF needs to be fired because this guy hasn't gotten a call-up yet, etc. etc. etc. I trust our staff's ability to evaluate players. Pretty much everyone that deserves a call-up has gotten one (with the exception of Pontius but he was going to get called up but couldn't make it because of injury). Most people don't rate Lichaj so if our staff doesn't I won't be up in arms about it.

Lichaj didnt play well with AV last season but has the capability to be a mainstay on the USMNT going forward. The reason is simple JK loves attacking fullbacks and Lichaj may be the best of the bunch. If he gets just a bit more consistent defensively(there are games when he is far and away the best RB in our pool besides a healthy Dolo, also games where he looks like Spector). Let him continue his run at Forest and bring him in. However, I also think he deserved a call since we have such a cluster of problems at Rb and LB currently.

Nobody is calling for anyone to be fired. The championship isn't just some low-level league, I'd say it is still better than the MLS. And no one said lichaj will save the team, just he is a solid option for the most glaring hole in our lineup. He has weaknesses sure but so does brad evans and michael parkhurst.

Just listened to the Alexi Lalas Taylor Twellman podcast, they were thinking about the backup possible RBs, and Yedlin came to their minds, but sadly somehow Lichaj did not. Let's get this straight Yedlin is unproven against both CONCACAF teams AND High Caliber teams (EPL, etc). Shame on Lalas and Twellman, thinking about an unproven kid over lichaj.

Taylor should know better but don't even bother listening to Lalas. If someone isn't playing in MLS he doesn't think they should ever get a look from the National team. I doubt he even know the names of any Americans abroad besides Bradley, Dolo, Chandler, Johnson, and Tim Howard. He was strongly against Guzan playing while Howard was injured.

Lichaj playing today. Doing well once again. Tim Ream and Danny Williams who look average at best in Championship get callups, but not Lichaj. #JurgenLogic

Parkhurst shouldnt be picked for the september WCQ's he has been unable to make it with his club you cant keep calling up players that dont play for their clubs. Parkhurst should be dropped players shouldn't get complacent. Evans is our starting right back at the moment but if you gave lichaj a chance he could possibly become our starting right back. Until parkhurst is playing with club he isnt and shouldnt be considered an option.

Jurgen values familiarity like an old 90 year old values familiarity in his daily routine. Jurgen knows Parkhurst and is now comfortable with Parkhurst. Don't take him out of his comfort zone.

I think Evans can perform well. It's what happens when Evans gets injured or accumulated yellows that I am worried about (WC)

He did call up Eddie Johnson and Alan Gordon for wolrd cup qualifiers in replace of jozy altidore one time. I'd say that is out of his comfort zone.

He was forced out of his comfort zone by our desperate situation then. Recall how desperate we were at that point.
