If you think about it position wise the US really is the best team. Let's take a look at the positions:

GK: Howard hands down is the best goalie in CONCACAF, and really I would put Guzan at 2 while Mexico's Corona comes in at 3.

RB/LB: Probably not, but not far off. Let's say that you add Lichaj and Chandler then these two guys are in the top 5. Also I rate Cameron pretty high as a RB.

CB: Mexico's Moreno is the best CB in CONCACAF, but I would put Brooks, Besler, and Gonzo in the top 5.

Cm's: No Brainer MB90 is the best CM in CONCACAF. Mexico's Zavala is pretty good, and Espinoza is decent, but Bradley is on a different level.

Winger: If Donovan plays on the wings then hands down he is the best winger. Dos Santos comes in at 2.

Striker: Altiddore is the best striker in CONCACAF. He has pace, power, an excellent first touch, he can score from multiple areas, and something Chicharito can't do; Altidore can beat players off of the dribble.

Depth: Guzan, Corona, Johannsson, Shea, EJ, Castillo, Goodson, Diskerud, Zusi, Fabian etc... It's scary for CONCACAF how deep and talented the US is now.

Also factor in that the US has the 3 best players in CONCACAF in Bradley, Lando, and Deuce.

For me the US has surpassed Mexico 1-11 and 12-23.

The great thing is that our depth is growing. 2018 is gonna be fantastic.

I think you are exactly right. We should be able to beat Mexico in Columbus.

America is a hotbed of different nationalites, cultures, and etnicities.

I would take issue with Bradley being the best, Espo in my mind is a more tireless worker and is just as good with his movement and distribution.

Altidore is closing in fast, but I think that Blas has him beat at the moment, but JA will top him most likely very soon, probably in time for the WC.

Blas better than Jozy? Sorry can't get behind that at all. Espinozan better than Bradley? I just don't see it, I just don't see it.

It's difficult to rate one striker over the other when you take production out of the equation, but the number of flick ons alone that Blas provides should be enough to put him slightly higher than Jozy.

I don't want anyone to think that I'm bashing Jozy, in fact I'm trying to compliment him by making a Blas comparison. Blas has been one of the more dominant strikers in the region for the past near-decade and I think his experience is what sets him higher than Jozy for now. They play very similarly, being general pains-in-the-butt for CBs and ill-prepared wideouts. As i mentioned in my first post, Jozy is gaining ground quick and if his improvement over the past 18-24 months is any indication, he'll soon be the clear and uncontested best striker in CONCACAF.

Also, to further clarify my position...Yes we are the best team in CONCACAF, but we don't necessarily have the best individual players (yet).

Blas has been good, but not dominant.

Theres a couple of good players around concacaf , like Gabriel torres, Zelaya, Espinoza, bengston, Bryan ruiz, Campbell, Peralta, Aquino, And I think the best CB in concacaf is felipe baloy from panama.. But usa has the best team overall hands down..

This. I'm glad you brought up Baloy. I agree that he is the best CB in CONCACAF.
