There is some truth to that.

Still, at the end of the day, it remains true that CONCACAF and FIFA need to be pressured up to do their jobs, and intervene to lean on Cuba to do the right thing. Pronto. There is no more time to spare for Cuba to fumble around any more than they already have done with Alonso's situation. Cuba is being allowed to reduce him to a limbo state on the NT level.

We really need a Pacman stone cold ball winner playing the six. Osvaldo is well suited.

Jones starting for Schalke today which furthers the case that jones has been starting their most competitive games the majority of this season.

Lol did anyone see Landon's impression of Jones in Fox sports 1. Apparently he reminds the USMNT players that he is a CL player. Hmm does he think he is bigger I wonder.

dude. thought we went over this. hoger had basically taken jones starting spot, then picked up a season-ending injury about a month ago.

from 8/31 - 11/2 jones started 3 of 8 games

schalke will try to get by with jones until january at which point i am sure they will try to add another CM through transfer.

with hoger out jones is back in as a starter

we all clear?

Why are you so angry rain, your dislike for anyone not named Kljestan is well known, are we all clear?

Are you saying there are zero other options due to one injury at Schalke? Injuries happen to all squads every season.

no "dislike" for jones or anyone else. with hoger out, jones is clearly a starter right now, despite other options.

going back to OP... i happen to think that bradley / jones is questionable strategy and with jones clearly not at his best, even more so. think JK should have put a little more value over the last year in identifying at least an alternate plan

that is where i am coming from. what point, exactly, are YOU trying to make?

that we should not question jones or the bradley / jones strategy?

i am not clear at all on what point you are trying to convey...

Rain, I have posted my doubts about jones form. Me posting an update about jones starting again in the CL is not me saying he is in great form. I too wish we had more reliable options alongside MB, I'm not sure that we do. Aside from Kljestan or the emergence of a youth player... I hope someone can show they can play alongside him prior to next summer whether it be your boy Kljestan, jones regaining form, or any other player.

From today:

The US midfielder went the distance, picking up a 75th-minute yellow card that will see him miss the Miners' final Group E match at home against Basel. Jones also fired three shots during the contest, though none of them were on target.

certainly a good preview of what we will see this summer.

who gets the start for that 3rd group game after jones is suspended will remain an intriguing question,,,

@navi. You have to include North Korea with China, Iran, and Cuba.

Does anyone know whether Jones is getting his meniscus surgery over the break?

Kljestan not in the 18 today. Likely being rested due to them only having 1 point at the moment in the group phase.

Just to show stats can be misused I will state the following stats:

Out of Kljestans last 4 appearances in the Champions League, his team record:
1 Draw and 3 Losses and were outscored 11-1 over those 4 matches. Based on this, he must be terrible, either that or they played better teams.
