@2tone what do you mean Eddie Johnson was going off?

He was giving his peace of mind to ASN about their player ratings against Bosnia. Specifically about his rating.

The reason why Torres or Brad Davis will get the call is that there likely is a need for a left footed player in the midfield.

I'd be ok with torres, but Davis has not been impressive in US jersey.

For the first time ever, I have no complaints with a roster. Good job Stone.....

but I will always welcome any dual nationals for upgrades..

Still not sold on Castillo as a LB. He did play well against B&H, but overall has not impressed me in the minutes he's gotten. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dolo and/or Chandler make a late push for inclusion in the defense in place of one of your midfielders. To me the odd man out would be Kljestan.

Sasha will take Holden's place if he's not fit for the trip to Brazil, unless Danny Williams comes back in from the cold to sew up that 6th CDM spot. Castillo is almost a carbon copy of Beas as LB, but a bit less quick. Between those two and Fab, we have all the attacking LBs we need, the problem becomes, do we sacrifice one of them for a more defense-oriented player like Ream, or do you potentially sacrifice a midfield roster slot to accomodate Fab and the other three LBs?

Considering that each of those players minus Ream would be able to play LM or LW just as easily as LB/LWB, I think all you'd need in terms of cover is Shea if he's fit and healthy, there's a good basis for a rotation to make sure that our players stay fresh throughout the tourney.

There's no point in having depth if you're not going to use it to your advantage. Competition for spots is all well and good, but when we're in a tourney setting and we're almost guaranteed to go through the group stage, rotation needs to be implemented.

Few if any teams get the luxury to rotate players. Firstly you'd have to win both your first two games (very hard to do). Then you'd have to either have 1st sewn up or prefer 2nd place (say to avoid Spain or someone). Its almost never done. Substitution paterns may change to protect players on a yellow but changing the starters when in your scenario you'd have won 2 straight world cup games and cooking on all cylinders makes little sense

Anyone know the status of Zusi? Is it looking like he will miss the Sept. Qualies due to his injury as well?

Awesome. That means we can line up Lando on the right, Dempsey in the middle, and either AJ or Fabian on the left. Pretty potent attack right there.
