Maradona is better than Messi!! And yes with messi right now they would finish in the top 5 at least. Napoli was worse than sunderland they were in 2nd division. Is like putting maradona in huddersfield and they get promoted and win the Epl in a couple years, they even retired the #10 in napoli he literally single handidly put them in the map. Can't say the same about Pele because he never played in Europe.

Anyways how the Hell did the johansson thread turn into maradona, Pele, sunderland etc lol.

I'm not gonna dignify the first paragraph with a response.

And this thread devolved into other things the same way every other thread devolves into other things. That's called having a conversation.

Absolutely ridiculous. One player in soccer cannot make a team go from 17th to 5th. This is not basketball. Sunderland wouldn't be able to utilize Messi. No one would be able to get him the ball. Not to mention he doesn't fit their style of play at all...it just wouldn't work out well.

Jozy must be really worried about his spot with the MNT. Wait til Boyd starts scoring also.

That's what I am talking about. Jozy is to complacent with the USMNT. He takes his spot for granted. Time for Johansson to put all sorts of pressure on him.

Johannsson and Boyd would be a dangerous combo

i am beyond tired of Altidore always being the starter

I agree. I would be in favor of dropping Jozy for a match or two to give Boyd and AJ the chance for a run in the side...I think the result would be a quicker, more fluid possession game going forward and the possibility of more lethal finishing.

Jozy just needs a change of scenery and AJ is not the same type of player that Jozy is.

Agree on that! Johannsson scores goals and altidore doesn't. Definitely not the same type of player

Yes, I agree. It's time to give other strikers a chance to play.

If Jozy rides the pine the rest of the season, and players like AJ, Boyd, Zardes, Rubin are all putting in goals and making plays then IMO there is no way Jozy should be on the 2015 Gold Cup team ahead of any of them.

Wrong, Jozy more of a big strong physical forward. Johanson is more of a poacher though he takes on players too. I want to see the 2010 Jozy, used to take on players setting teamates up and winning so many areal challenges.

Lol, you call that big strong physical?

Since you live about 30 mins from me (Dublin CA) you should come up and play in a pick up game. Im 6'2 235 Lbs

Sorry but Johannsson has a better nose for goal! He puts himself in better positions. Johannson will be on an EPL team soon why altidore will be back in MLS next year!

I agree with blaise I would bet anything Johansson scores more goals in the Epl than Jozy. Wait what is that jozy ???? 64 appearances 2 goals OMG!!!! A CB with half those appearances will score more... Geeeez talk about sucking.
