Im sorry. All goals are not created equal. If he joins Celtic he plays 4-6 competitive matches a year. I dont care if he scores 60 goals. When the competition is that disbaraged its meaningless. Id rather he score 10 EPL or bundesliga goals then 40 SPL goals.

I'm with navi on this one, which isn't something that happens too often...

Think about it this way, who scores more goals in a season in the SPL than Celtic? Last season when both Ajax and Celtic won their respective titles, the total goal tallies were fairly close - 83 for Ajax and 96 for Celtic. AZ scored 56 league goals, 19 of which were Jozy's.

Would it really be so bad to move to a place where he's got the potential of scoring so many more goals? Would it be so bad to move to a place with guaranteed CL games?

Personally, it feels like more of an even trade off for me, what he loses in one respect he gains in another. He'd lose some of his artistry but he'd gain lots of physical awareness and strength. He'd have more chance of injury with wild Scottish tackles but would have the potential of scoring 40+ in all comps.

He's comfortable now, but if the money is there, he's got enough of a reason to want to move. Hopefully not before the WC though, I'm sure he'll have a much better choice of destinations to chose from than Scotland afterwards.

Jozy scored 23 in the league last season not 19.

Going to Celtic would be a big step down.

What matters the most in the league you choose to play in is the weekly competition you face and the style of play.

In terms of both of these, the SPL is far inferior to the Eredevisie. Aron would have fewer competitive matches and, most importantly, he would be playing in a league where they play shit, route one hoofball, traditional English style. This is not a place we want our players going. In terms of style of play, Sunderland is similar to an SPL team and this is why Altidore made a big mistake in going there. The weekly competition may be the toughest in the world but he is playing crap soccer and getting barely any service.

The best move for Aron would be to go to the Bundesliga. Similar to the Eredevisie but faster and much more competitive. It has a great record of producing talent (the EPL does not). La Liga would be good too.

I agree with most people on here. It would be a massive step down in competition. Hopefully Aron is smart and has an intelligent agent because his stock will more than likely be pretty high after the WC.

Plenty of teams in the top 4 leagues will be in need of a striker next season.

Should probably update the Wiki then... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_...

You sure you're not talking about total goals, when I did mention that those were league goals?

Great point, but that's not the question at hand...it's Eredivisie goals versus SPL goals. Since the Dutch league has much more of a free scoring reputation than the SPL does, I think it would speak higher to score more in the SPL than in Holland.

But that's just an opinion and one that I'm sure I'll get plenty of guff for.

I stated he scored 23 in the league. His goal total was 31 last season.

Just go to ESPN it has his accurate goal totals.

I am looking at his Wiki page and under 2012-2013 it definitely states that he scored 23 goals.

ArJo > Jozy

Eredvisie > SPL

$$$
anything?

Is Celtic really the only other club looking at Aron?

Im not trying to come up with any conclusions, those are just some things to think about.

Am I the only one that could see ArJo taking over for Lewandoski at Dortmund? Just a thought.

Carry on.

Dortmund needs a proven striker. Aron, while loaded with ability, has yet to be tested in a top 4 league.

This would be a Jozy Altidore level club mistake if he went to Celtic.

Not necessarily. Look where Lewandoski came from prior to joining Dortmund, the almighty Lech Posnan!

Dortmund has a proven system that produces goals and wins. Its a matter of finding the right player with the necessary skillset to plug into Klopp's system. Lewandoski is a product of Dortmund, not the other way around.

ArJo>Jozy? Hmm, don't know about that. I am happy to have them both. Both are playing well regardless that Jozy has only 2 goals on the season.

ArJo is probably a super sub in the WC. I think Altidore will start.

Given our crappy draw, I'm inclined to agree with you...if we'd gotten any weak team I could see IceBacon get the start against them but with the good federations we'll be facing, you're most likely right and we'll see him come off the bench at least a couple of times.

Good goal from Johannsson. Only one playing for AZ at the moment.
