AJ with 10 Eredivisie goals and 15 in all comps now.

Just tearing it up.

Another player that needs to be in the starting 11 for the USMNT and not as a winger.

I stand corrected. Roda playing two men up and trailing 2-1. That's pretty terrible.

Roda isn't a very good team. They would get stomped by most MLS teams.

sure. but starting more than 2 of donovan, altidore, AJ, and dempsey is a bad idea. they are all central attackers

not saying AJ shouldnt start, but playing LD wide for US at this point in his career is no better than playing AJ wide

as of now, id take jozy and LD, AJ off the bench. jozy has scored 8 in last 9 USMNT games. if he struggles through the winter, then maybe bench him... but AJ has proven nothing at the international level

dempsey should not even be in the conversation as a starter at this point. he is behind AJ, who has not established himself as a starter...

playing dempsey wide is an even worse idea than playing LD wide. cramming these guys onto the field just to get them on the field will result in an ugly showing from USMNT in brazil

Wow, I actually agreed with Rain's post. Anyways, yeah i agree, for now AJ's best role is the super sub role, like his outings against Bosnia and Panama. Also i would love to see LD and Jozy together. As for Clint, you're right, his form has been terrible that im not afraid to admit. But dempsey can play wide, he played wide several time under bob bradley, hell he even plays wide for fulham.

He's played wide for Tottenham. I would just put him there. Donovan in center is SO VALUABLE. FabJ will be left wide. AronJ can start if Jozy is suspended/injured, otherwise I would sub AronJ in 55th-60th minute into the game (straight swap for Jozy OR 2 striker formation, whatever game needs).

yes dempsey HAS and CAN play in a wide position. just not sure why anyone would think it is a good idea at this point

IF he shows he is in good form next year you could try...

--------jozy or AJ-------
-dempsey---------donovan-

otherwise, why force it? just go with a front 2 and, ideally, have fabian and chandler as your primary wide attackers

Because Chandler is done for. And Fabian is the only wide option. In reality as much as Dempsey is not in form, he is still SO clutch. I would choose to force it. The only other viable option I see is to bench Dempsey and put in Zusi at RW. I don't see other good solutions.

Maybe by the 60th minute that happens, but he's not starting 2 strikers from the getgo against world class opponents.

i would want guys who actually have the ability to create some danger on the edges - who can actually stretch the field for the guys in the middle.

dempsey? no
zusi? no
bedoya? no
EJ? no
donovan? somewhat, but no, not really. but bigger issue is he is better central and need him central

who can do that?
- fabian
- chandler

- cameron
- beasley
- lichaj
- yedlin

only way you can actually get those guys forward is 3 CMs, with a 6 holding

The Eredivisie should really be a good selling point for young American attackers. Good for clubs as American players come cheap and you sell high and get much more for what you bought them for.
