There are reports that Mark Hughes is extremely interested in signing Juan Agudelo. Supposedly he has been a fan of Agudelo's since Managing Manchester City.

Interesting. It could be fun to watch Brek and Agudelo in attack for Stoke if this were to happen.

What do you guys think?

Stoke Media confirmed that they may be in advanced talks with Agudelo's representatives, and that there is another premier league rival in the chase for Agudelo as well.

They are also closely monitoring Omar Gonzales as well.

I would still like to see him go to a team in Holland first. Seems to be a more nuturing climate for teaching the guys how to be professional footballers.

Hopefully MLS doesnt get in the way.

I just watched that goal against DC a couple years ago where he flicks it up to himself in between two defenders and volleys it into the net. The kid is talented. I would love to see him in the EPL. He has a very good first touch, can play off the last defender and can drop in the hole in possession. Everywhere he goes, he makes that offense better.

As long as his injury problems don't get in the way I think it would be great for him

Agudelo to Stoke would be cool. But Gonzalez? No. Cameron is versatile so he still saw the field but Gonzalez can't play anything but CB so he would just ride the bench. Ives said he still think Gonzalez ends up in Mexico.

I remember that sick goal he scored in the Milk Cup in 2010, hope this move goes threw. Stoke City need some new attackers that can finish well.

Gonzo..? Don't know about this move..would rather see him go to Holland, Germany, or a diff EPL team that doesn't have such strong CB's.

Agudelo to stoke would be ok.. I think gonzo ends up in mexico for a top team, like America or monterrey, tigres, even xolos.. If not a mid table la liga team or bundesliga.. Agudelo could really trive at stoke..

saw this story on the BBC transfer gossip page (my daily read), where they mistakenly identified Juan as a Colombian. Didn't actually read it, but this would make sense. MH is trying to get away from the longball game that TP instituted, so the need for the tall, slow striker force they have is diminished. I see them keeping Crouch and maybe Jerome, but I see Jones being sold if this deal is going to go through.

Good news for him if so. Idk if he's ready for a move like this but he has the talent.

Saw a report on ESPN that the deal to Stoke should be completed this weekend. The American revolution at Stoke continues.

I dont like that Agudelo is going to Stoke. They are not a good club and I dont think it will be good for his development. Stoke should sign Agudelo then loan him out. He wont start in the premier league. He is not good enough yet.

He needs to get a lot of playing time in a lower league in Europe in order to continue developing. I would give him 2 season. 1 season of loan to get minutes and develop. Another at stoke to get some premier league experience. Then after his 3rd year at the club see if he is ready to make it happen.

He won't start in the EPL? Have you seen Stokes ineffective strikers?

Kenwyne Jones is probably on the way out and I don't think crouch fits with the revolution at Stoke. He might not start but he would likely still get decent playing time, like Shea.
