I know this is going to sound far fetched but what happens if Dempsey doesn't play with tottenham this year, i don't know why but i have a feeling that he isn't going to get playing time with the new additions coming in

He'll still play this year...next year isn't so promising. I can see him moving to another "Europa league hopeful" team either in Jan or next summer, Everton if they sell Fellaini seems very likely IMO.

The guys that AVB are bringing in will need time to adjust to the system and the style of play, and skill aside Duece has mad EPL XP and is a leader on the field.

BShredder reporting that USSF has filed Aron's One-Time switch petition this morning to FIFA. The ball is already rolling.

Oh and he has been called up for the Bosnia friendly. Regardless if his One-Time switch has been completed or not he will still join the team to train in Sarajevo.

big picture for brazil:

AJ in; EJ out

dont get too fired up, just what im thinking. in reality, the forward slots beyond jozy will/should go to who, among the top candidates, deserves it most as assessed by club and country production - basically from now through may.

basically think there are 2 spots for:
- boyd
- AJ
- EJ

although if its close, EJ will get benefit of doubt because of his contribution over the last year.

possible all 3 will go, but that would likely impact a guy like bedoya or diskerud

Well, watching all of Aron Johannsson's games for a year was worth it. I literally have seen all his goals live.

That makes up for the wasted year on watching Gotoku Sakai (who along with M Ponce made and international mistake).

If we get Shawn Parker, like porky the pig said " be be peppbe beppee that's all folks" !!!

I think it will be either Boyd or AJ their are both young and have alot to still learn before playing in a pitch like the WC. EJ goes to brazil because he has been so effective for NT. Neither Boyd or AJ have contributed to NT in terms of goals. If AJ starts scoring he goes over Boyd. But then again Boyd hasnt gotten the opportunity. Going to be Altidore, Ej and either Boyd or AJ. Just isnt a good idea to bring young guys unless they have pushed hard to be called. Experience too important to be left out of world cup

My gut tells me this will be a big pickup for the US national team.

Im with you on this who is also with bshredder. I think probably one of Johannssons best attributes is his versatility. He can play CF, ST, and winger very well. In the future I could see a potential role for him similar to dempsey is now. With him playing behind altidore. Another thought is you could bring him on as a supersub to attack from the wings. He has so many possibilities as to how he can be used. In his 147 minutes with az last year when healthy he scored 3 goals. This year I think he has a good year with az and either stays for another year or makes the jump to a top four league. I think this is a really big pickup he might be penciled in as the backup for altidore and dempsey this cycle. But next cycle he could definitely play as a starter in dempseys role.

Goal prediction total for our newest USMNT member as a starter for AZ this year?

I predict he scores 24 goals in all competitions this season.

I like it. But that raises questions for FJ which also brings up questions for Beas.
