Take out Orozco. Add Lichaj. Otherwise good. Zusi not being there is a tough sell.

Orozco has been undeniably Puebla's best defender, and one of the top defenders in Liga MX, for me he stay's because Cameron is the back-up RB to Chandler. Orozco is a back-up CB.

The USMNT will have Lando, Bedoya, Fabian and or Beasley for the wings not a tough sell at all. All of whom have been playing better than Zusi has been the past few weeks.

This is for October, so Zusi may jump back in the convo, but I have never been sold on Zusi as a winger. He is a much better CM.

Beasley won't ever be used as a winger...only an attacking (sometimes, certainly not against top teams) LB

I agree that Orozco at CB is satisfactory, but I think Jurgen would only ever use him in a match as RB, which I do not want.

At this rate I dont see klissman taking out beasleye... And thats a huge mistake because we will pay dearly if he starts at lb in the world cup

What I'd like to see (assuming the following players get PT, and I excluded long-shots like Adu and Shea):

GK: Howard, Guzan, Rimando
Defenders: F. Johnson, Beasley, Cameron, Brooks, Besler, Orozco, Cherundolo, Chandler
Midfielders: Donovan, Arriola, Dempsey, Bedoya, Corona, Bradley, Jones, Torres, Beckerman
Forwards: Altidore, Johannsson, E. Johnson

With this line-up:

Altidore
Donovan Dempsey Bedoya
Torres Bradley
Johnson Brooks Cameron Cherundolo
Howard

Beasley and Beckerman would hopefully never play and simply provide leadership in the locker room. If we need a #6 we'd use Cameron or even Jones.

Corona getting PT (and Chandler re-entering the fold) might be a bit of a long-shot but other than that I think it's realistic. Of course Torres won't get a chance at CM. Other than that I could see Klinsmann going with something similar.

what on earth are people smoking with regard to arriola? he has a grand total of 1 liga MX start.

classic case of people getting excited about guys who have done absolutely nothing.

joe corona is another recent example. corona was never very productive, but at least he had earned his way into starting line-up

good grief. people are mistaking tijuana with barcelona. 'ana / 'ona... it can be confusing

Arriola was the other stretch but he has looked very impressive so far. He has a very good shot of becoming a starter. If he does and can replicate those performances for the Nats, in my book he overtakes Zusi and EJ on the depth chart. We're that desperate on the wing.

Tim Howard with some amazing saves, anyone who is doubting him and favoring Guzan are completely wrong.. Howard will be our #1 keeper in brazil and perhaps beyond..

My starting 11 for brazil would be.....

Altidore

Johansson Dempsey Donovan

Mix/jones Bradley

Fabian Brooks Gonzo Chandler/cameron

Howard

I think Donovan is more effective on the RW... Mix brings more of a spark, Jones more control in the midfield.. Depending on chandler's allegiance and decisions if he accepts a call up then cameron gets the nod.. I think evans is our 3rd choice, lichaj a distant 4th.. Beasley off the bench for fabian, And ej on for Aron if we need more attack... Aron would be good on the LW and we could slide him up for a traditional 4-4-2..

there are 2 "solutions" to this problem:

1) use marginally talented, or out of position (or both) options in wide areas: (JK's solution)
- williams, zusi, corona, bedoya on the right
- shea, torres, EJ, gomez, davis and others on the left

2) utilize your most talented attacking players in a front 3 (4-3-3)
- altidore
- donovan
- dempsey
- johannsson
- EJ
- boyd
- bedoya

i realize 4-3-3 has not looked great under JK, but i would suggest JK is not savvy enough to define roles properly and choose a good combo of CMs...

for fans of keeping the "4-2-3-1":

how about chandler at an RM? or LB (with fabian at LM)?

Johansson Altidore EJ/Boyd

Dempsey/Shea Bradley Donovan/bedoya

Fabian Brooks Gonzo/cameron Chandler

Howard

Thats the perfect 4-3-3.... Usa should try it vs scotland assuming those players are available.. But im sure some will be in the playoffs.. So if is an all european/liga mx based it would be.. After /

Subs, Mix, Guzan, Gomez, Castillo, Beasley,, Arriola, Lichaj...

Heck if holmes keeps playing the way he is dont be surprised for a november friendly call up, coming in as an 80min sub..

Well, there is a fair amount of convergence on the squad.

Can't see Boyd, Corona, Herc, or Arriola going.

It would be nice to see Bedoya have a successful season in France. Agree that we could use some help on the wings. I do still see Zusi still going.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I still can't see Beckerman making it.

A lot can happen in 9 months so we'll see.

Hilarious coming from you but I agree. No question number one on a good Everton team.

Not really related but we are kind of debating Howard-Guzan so I just wanted to say its awesome that the only two goalkeepers in the BPL who have assists this year are the two Americans.

Crazy, but not entirely far fetched wishful thinking for Brazil.

Yedlin is steadily improving, take the back line pressure off him and let him do what he does best, attack on the flank. The line up is a good combination of speed, savvy and ball movement...no dead ends.

Predicated on Chandler, Johannsson, Yedlin and Brooks playing well enough to be fast tracked...no small feat. Never happen, but I'd love to see JK use this as his base line up for the next 9 months.

...........Jozy....
......................Ice..............
....LD............................Yedlin
............MB..................
.................Cameron....

FJ........Brooks...Besler....Chandler
