GK: Rimando, Guzan, Howard

Defense: Yedlin, Cameron, Gonzo, Besler, Goodson, Brooks, Fabian, Beasley, Parkhurst,

CM's: Bradley, Jones, Diskerud, Beckerman, Edu, Williams, Torres, Corona

Attackers: Deuce, Lando, Bedoya, Zusi, Green, Altidore, AJ, Wondo, Boyd, Agudelo

Got a feeling Torres & Corona will get another look, Jose's has catch good form of late and Corona is improving. Thinking JK will take only 7 in defense and probably knows 6 of them right now. The final spot will be between: Brooks,Parkhurst, & Yedlin. Also he's got to make room for Aguedelo.

I'd take Wondo over Agudelo...Mainly due to his ability to read the play and make the appropriate timely decision the majority of the time... lets the ball do the work. We're just talking late game sub minutes anyway. Agudelo has much more raw talent, but still tries to do too much on his own, which inhibits opportunities for others...bogs things down. He's not good enough to consistently get the better of his defender 1v 1 against WC comp...not enough to benefit to team...It's all about quick decisions and speed of play.

Gyau versus Davis. toughie...I'd go with Davis. I think it is much easier for Davis to affect the game in a positive way than Gyau. Gyau has to beat his defender to get separation, then make a decision where to place the ball, then execute a quality cross at game speed. Davis, at this point, can't do any of that at this level...strictly would be a late game sub. All he has to do though is stand over a free kick and accurately put the ball in a very threatening area. He's better than anyone else on the nats with a deadball cross. The few times we've seen it I'm on the edge of seat. He has a potential game changing delivery.

Brooks and Ream - I think Ream has the potential to give us more at LB, or even Dmid, than Brooks can give us at CB, supporting hopefully, Besler and Cameron. At this time, I think the moment would be too big for Brooks to be thrown into the pressure cooker at CB at a WC...much more pressure than the Ukraine game.

Wait do people really think Gyau has a chance?

I know we're all glad he finally got some time in the first team but there's no way he could overtake Davis.

Yeah bud. I hate busting SJ fans' chops because the team is an easy target but jeebus that was rough.

You really have a thing for mediocre talent.

Haha, that wasn't the question. It was just who might give you more right at this moment. Three unique comparisions...more a case of a narrow, specialized talent that might add to the mix right now, instead of overall long term potential talent.

Ream vs Brooks??

Ream all day of the week. I cant get that Ukraine game out of my head regarding Brooks. He seemed really confused. Ream has grown as a player apparently by leaps and bounds since his last US appearance, so I am more than ready to see what he can do. If he can provide something, it would be better than the nothing I see Brooks producing (at this moment). Ream can also play outside and holding mid, again, as I've said before he's like the left-footed Cameron.

Who would all rather see for the final 30 man spot: Brad Davis or Joe Gyau?

Neither, but if I absolutely had to choose, Davis. Gyau has zero chance of being there and no business being there IMO. Going on the assumption that neither would play much, if at all, I'd rather have the threat that the left foot of Davis creates on set pieces if we need a goal.

Brooks made some egregious mistakes in the Ukraine game but I think he deserves a pass. Playing next to Gooch who he has never met or played with. Castillo was horrible next to him.

Agreed. Plus this Ukraine was played under strange circumstances. They didnt even know if they were going to play until what, 2 days before. Brooks has looked decent in other performances and he's a Bundesliga starter. Why would you take a utility player over him?

Brooks in a heart beat. I know Ream is versatile but i don't think he is better than brooks. Ream had his chances with the Mnt and blew it. Now all of a sudden he wins an award and people are calling on him to Brazil no way that will be a joke. Plus Brooks will be in the picture for 2018 Ream will not. And the experience will help brooks out a lot, who knows by 2018 Brooks can very well be our star Defender.

Brooks is in the 23, guys, so it's stupid to manufacture some silly choice between him and Ream for the 30.

"Brooks is in the 23"... not sure where you are getting that.

Brooks didn't play well against Bosnia either. He has potential, leave it at that. This world cup is about the best players right now, and after Jurgen will move forward with the "youth movement". I'm not sure Green or Brooks is going to Brazil. Experience matters with defenders and keepers much more than midfielders or especially attackers, and so, no, Brooks shouldn't just jump ahead of others.

But hey, that's what the camp is for. Let's have at it, I would love to see Brooks win a job thru his performance rather than potential. We have the next ten years for that.
