GK: Howard Guzan Rimando

DEF: Beasley Goodson Gonzo Besler Evans JAB Parkhurst Cameron

MID: Bradley Jones Diskerud Beckerman FJ Donovan Zusi Bedoya

For: EJ Dempsey Jozy A.Johansson

Just missing: Shea, Corona, Torres, Chandler, Boyd, Orozco,

I really dont want to include Beckerman but JK refuses to take him off the roster so I have no choice but to leave him on. I doubt solo and Chandler show up. Dolo is recovering and is old and Chandler has shown lack of commitment and is afraid of flying. The only chance that Chandler has of making the team is if he gets called up in January and plays out of his mind

Starting XI for opening day in Brazil

Howard

Parkhurst Goodson Besler DMB

Bradley Jones

Donovan Dempsey FJ

Altidore

Too many variables left yet. But I agree with most everybody's selections thus far.

You have to think both Licahj and Chandler will get call-ups this year. I don't think Evans or Parkhurst are locks at all, right now.

I have no idea if Dolo will get healthy enough and back to his old form to be able put him back on the USMNT. He has missed a lot of time due to injuries.

Man, I really, really, really, hope so. His scoring rate has matched that of EJ in the MLS I would imagine at the very least. He's transfering over to the premier league, he will be playing against better competition. If he does well over there, surely he merits consideration no? What do you guys think? Does he have enough time to supplant EJ as the Altidore substitute/winger option Klinsmann has shown an afinity for?

I have this dream, first game we get some south american team we're underdog to, and he comes off the bench, with us already leading, no less, and scores a ridiculous goal to put the game out of reach.

Yup, .. dreaming.

not totally out of the question. we could possibly see agudelo by the end of the year. biggest obstacle is probably getting PT once he moves to stoke.

then again, if he does go to stoke and make an impact, it would be hard to leave him out

Agudelo will have to really show well for Stoke, but coming in during winter half way through the season is always hard on players to make an impact.

Agudelo may not make the 2014 WC team, but I have a feeling he will be a huge player for the 2018 WC cycle.

Think about this as a FWD corps during the 2018 WC cycle:

Altidore
Johannsson
Agudelo
Boyd
Wood
McInerney
possibly Julian Green and Shawn Parker

I mean Christ that is talented depth like the US fanbase has never seen before.

I don't know about anyone else, but I miss YA doing 23 tickets to Brazil or wherever the WC would be held.

Good list. My changes would be the following:

CB: Besler in, oneil out.
OB/CM: Lichaj in , Beckerman out. I think Cameron slides into the #6 role with Jones as a backup. Lichaj backup RB, could be yedlin.
Attack: Zusi in. Boyd out. I think with EJ, AJ, and really Dempsey able to play striker they need Zusi's wide play more than what Boyd brings. Maybe Boyd can overtake EJ (I like Boyd) with a winter transfer and some success

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
