Usually if someone gets benched they still make the 18. To go from starting to not even dressing means either an injury or sending a message. If he's sending a message he'll be right back in there this weekend. If the coach just thought he wasnt good enough to start anymore he'd still dress and be available in case of injury. You dont go from #1 starter to 5th in the depth chart overnight.

Really?! Hmm let's think about that for a minute. Fernando Torres when he wasn't playing good, Bergkamp Arsenal, Ji-Sung Manchester United Mario Gomez when he was at Bayern, Snieder Real Madrid, not enough? It happens all the time. If a player is not performing he will not get minutes just to be shown a lesson... If he's still not performing he will get dropped! Edu perfect example just was not good enough. Altidore is no exception, a forward who doesn't score goals or is not consistent on a team will not play.

I know some people likes to believe everything a coach says is true, but just like bosses and managers they lie...I don't believe everything Poyet says about Altidore, I do believe he's just saying nice shit cause he has to.

Like I said I just hope he leaves that shorty ass team and goes off to a better one and makes a difference for whichever team he plays for. Again, are we being bias because he's American? What if he was Mexican or African? Would we feel the same way? Let's look at it from a different perspective and see how our opinions would change....

Excuse my grammar of it isn't correct, everytime I wrote on this site it's off phone....,

The guys you mentioned all followed the normal pattern. Started losing starts but making the bench. Then getting dropped altogether. You don't just go from starting XI to not dressing because your in a slump. You'd make the bench. Then if you have a bad attitude or start practicing poorly you'll get dropped from game day 18. But not overnight

I wouldn't read too much into it until the next league game, which doesn't appear to be until next Saturday. Jozy will have had plenty of time to rest after the friendly and if he isn't in the 18 then there's a problem.

Well Jozy didnt make the 18 again and this sunderland team has been a shadow of what they did last week. Sunderland is just a reaction team but aswell as a lazy team. Played an "inspiring" match against city just to lose to hull 3-0. Funny that their fans lie to themselves thinking its better team then what they really are, but in reality Jozy has struggled because well he doesnt do what is required of an EPL striker at times and when he does put that work rate and focus in, Sunderland makes a mess of themselves like this. Pathetic team.

I'm not for or against Jozy, but I will say a quick prayer for the USMNT every night that Jozy gets loaned out. He can still be loaned down the the Championship until March 28th. Maybe he'll be allowed to face the goal a little more often.

Funny how Sunderland and Gus rate Fetcher over Altidore when Fetcher looks so much more worst and uninterested in every game. Yes he was good last season not this season. Last time i checked were playing this season not last. Anyways hope Altidore can get some good work in if he plays

AHHHHH so close. Jozy compensated well for that first touch and keeper made an excellent save.
