West Brom is not going to be the force this year that they were last year. They were punching above their weight all year and a 1-0 victory over them isn't enough to cast doubt that a retooled, attack-heavy Sunderland team wouldn't be able to come away with a result.

I'm not trying to make a point about West Brom. True, without Lukaku they are a shadow of the attacking team they were last year. But Southampton were still able to keep a clean sheet on the road, always a difficult thing to do in the EPL. I just don't understand why everyone is assuming Jozy will bang in 2-3 goals tomorrow against a defensively solid team.

Anyone else watching the match today? Is it just me, or does it look like Jozy's been a little lazy today?

Not even in the slightest. Dude gets no service. And is on an island by himself. Only so much he can do.

But the GK Westwood is putting on a show.

Plus he's been getting mauled this whole game.

But he's not chasing the ball as much as usual. And Johnson was near the top of the 18 and Jozy was just sort of standing there instead of making a run into the box.

Considering the ball has been on sunderlands half there really hasnt been much to chase the ball. Altidore has gone at times back to defend corner and free kicks so he running quiet alot to defend. Sunderland needs a playmaker for sure

This is why I was so confused when everyone was saying yesterday that he'd score two or three goals today.

The passing was awful. I question why stick that Korean in for sessegnon... the Korean was dead awful and sessegnon is the only play maker on that team. The build up play is slow and there has been no service ... having said that I would like to see altidore at least make some more runs off of the defenders... he was a little stagnant in the attack

Scoring a early goal on the road also didn't help altidore tactically. Sunderland sat back more after that for the whole game so he was isolated a lot. It seemed he went down a lot trying to draw fouls which he didn't get. That was frustrating but probably had to do with not having help. His hold up play could have been better. Sunderland could really use bradley.

Sunderland is just a terrible team............ Jozy needs SERVICE to be successful I know Southampton are a decent team and they dominated the second half. Sunderland just looks embarrassing they def need to sign a midfielder or 2.

no service but agree he didn't chase balls he could have. plus until he establishes himself in the EPL refs aren't going to give him the calls when he goes down. he needs service but I hope NOT from Bradely. hope he stays at Roma!

It reminded me of the past year of MNT (before June) where Jozy was the lone target Forward and nobody got him into the game.

The good news for the US is that Jozy is being used in the same way that the MNT uses him.

The bad news is that he plays for Sunderland.
