I've been really high on Gus since he took over at Brighton, and before that when he was assistant to Ramos at Tottenham. Sunderland could do a lot worse than Gus or Di Matteo, so I'm glad that they're looking in that direction...

I don't know about his body language. I agree you gotta never-say-die, but the man was elbowed and hammered ruthlessly for 90 minutes. He did what he was asked to do, and the only time he ever got the ball was in the air from the defensive third. Why don't they look for him in the box?

Personally I believe that The US needs to get away from big men up top. I think they should really put their effort in getting Aron Johannson going and really try to get Julian Green to play for the US. Jozy's poor choice to go to Sunderland is going to be his down fall and Eddie Johnson is to inconsistent. Maybe Sunderland can find their mojo but i doubt it.

Like the great Ric Flair said...in order to be the man, you got to beat the man.... and until then AJ will be third on the roster IF THAT. GTFOI...... AJ is an awesome talent. we are blessed to have him....But for you to sit there and try to diss Jozy because he is is a "big man"...that is really silly to day. AJ will get his chance....no rush....

And for you to say that AJ is number 3, is really silly to Say. Maybe in JK's eyes he is, but in reality, AJ is head and shoulders above EJ.

It's official, Gus to join Sunderland. I like the move for now, but it really could go either way. I like his style and work ethic, and the step up in quality of players from Brighton should allow him to show off his style a little bit better...but if he comes in and expects respect from these players from the off, then his stay will probably be short and turbulent. Show the players that you can put in the work yourself, and they will be willing to do the same. Show them that you're willing to work for them, and they will in turn work hard for you.

Best of luck to Gus, hopefully Jozy will benefit from the change...if not, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him moving on at the end of the season.

Another schlacking for Sunderland today 3-0, Swansea just ripping them apart. Still a sub left for them maybe Jozy comes on, at least Holmes is playing right now for Huddersfield so it's not a complete waste of a Saturday morning.

Great touch by Jozy for the assist. They deserve the win. One win could lead to a couple. I bet they pass stoke city before winter break
