I don't know how many times I have stated that Shawn Parker plans on staying in the German set-up.

The US is more than fine at striker and winger/attacking middies now.

Of course he PLANS on it, doesn't mean he will be able to. Fabian PLANNED on staying in the German set-up, Jones the same, etc etc.

Wonder how much the USMNT calling JAB before Germany called him to their camp weighed on his decision.. If he already said yes to the US, I'd imagine he used that as his excuse to Germany, which is a pretty solid one.

We won't really know anything about JAB until he comes out and states his desire to play for the USMNT or we lock him by playing him in a quali.

IMO, I think we can make a deep run into the World Cup if we were able to land:

Johannsson
Brooks
Parker

Right now we are 1 for 3

Ill be watching more hoffenheim games. Im really interested in that Jeremy Toljan kid. LB is still a weak spot for us. Im not a fan of beasley at that position.

--------

As for producing our own. All for it. Definitely looking forward to Zardes and Yedlin.

MLS needs to be in the Florida market. Tons of potential talent not being introduced into the game.

Toljan hasn't made shit... *Klinsmann voice*

But seriously, it's probably best if we let the kid get some matches under his belt before pondering his future with the USNT.

German U21 coach apparently stated that Brooks is no longer in their plans. Good for us, but sends a clear message to German system established players that they'd better be sure before you even accept non-binding friendly call up.

Link? I'd love for this to be true, but I also feel bad for Brooks that he'd get shunned just for feeling out his options.

It was in Kicker's print edition today but I have the image

Here's the translation

"He is no longer in my plans" - Germany U21 coach Horst Hrubesch on John Anthony Brooks

Thats kind of spinning the actual truth. Its the life of duals. Look at Mobi Fehr. We wanted him to play for our youth team. He said no and joined Japan. If someone asked Williams, or Rongen, or Ramos about him Im sure h would have given the same response. Its typical coach speach. Doesnt mean they arent keeping track of him and wouldnt welcome him back if he keeps growing

Very rarely has a US youth coach said that a dual is "no longer in my plans."

When Conor Doyle was flip flopping with the US U20 team and Ireland's U19 team, Rongen said he should explore all opportunities and I'm sure he'll chose the USA.

When Brooks was playing with Germany's U20s, Tab Ramos said he, as a young player, should explore all opportunities.

With the DFB, they pursue dual nationals but not to the end of the earth. Unless it is for a true world class player, it's generally below them to get into a tug of war. For them, a player shouldn't need to be convinced to play for one of the best national teams in the world.

I know he doesn't play there for Stoke but for me it's gotta be Cameron...Johnson-Brooks-Cameron-Cherundolo. I like this because we could possibly throw Johnson or Dolo forward at times to create numbers going forward and still have a solid 3 in the back. With either Bradley or Jones in the hole that should be enough to make even the best teams have to work to score goals. If not Cameron then Besler. But definitely not OG, he gets beat too much.

Cameron has played CB for Stoke, but only as a backup to either Shawcross or Huth...he's a very versatile defender and will be a good player wherever we put him. If Chandler isn't ready and Dolo isn't fit, he may be the first choice at RB over Parkhurst.

I guess this is the most relevant thread I can find. I checked up the progress on Shawn Parker and Jeremy Toljan last night.

Rumors are that Shawn Parker might get loaned out to Bobby Wood's club Erzgebirge Aue. If this happens, I could see Parker filing for a 1 time switch soon. He wouldn't be on Germany's radar for any level.

Jeremy Toljan on the other hand rejected the chance to join Red Bull Salzburg and Juventus to stay at hoffenheim. He should be looking at first team minutes again this year.

Do we still have a chance with the Argentinean Funes Mori brothers? Rogelio and Ramiro? Do they have any interests in playing for the USMNT? They were raised in Dallas.
