JAB-Besler no doubt it. Goodson is good but Besler has performed extremly well. Expirence is important but Besler and JAB are the best partnership in my opinion. I think besler moves to rcb and I think he would pair up with brooks. I think bosnia game is a great way to start brooks international future. However if he has an average or below average game it is still his first game most players first game they are trying to get adjusted to the speed of the game.

i would tend to agree. even though besler is pretty left-sided i think he is adaptable enough to make the switch

certainly worth a shot. big upside is besler is just hitting his peak and will (likely) stay at that level through 2018

of course if he cant make the switch, he'll be out of a job

Besler-Brooks is not a very physically strong pairing. Also, neither are all that good in the air. Both are technically sound and good on the ball, but it has some serious weaknesses

???

brooks is a beast. WAY stronger than goodson or gonzo. besler is not tall, but he is strong and athletic - and currently starts with goodson/gonzo. i dont get your analysis

Brooks and Besler both are ball-playing CBs, while they are both strong, they aren't built to deal with physical CFs. Typically, you want to have CBs that complement each other, Besler and Brooks are very similar. I think it all depends on the opponent. I could see a Brooks-Besler pairing then in other games a Brooks-Cameron pairing (as I believe him will wind up at CB). If Besler can make the transition to RCB then I would love to see a Brooks-Besler pairing. Though I think the friendly would be a good time/chance to see Brooks-Cameron as most likely will be made up of European based players.

I know I'm in the minority here but I don't see JK calling up many MLSers for Bosnia. Especially guys like Besler, Omar and EJ who have seen significant time away from their clubs this summer.

With JAB in the ranks, let's throw him to the wolves and see how he does. There's no need to call up Besler nor should we play the McInerney "come train with us" game with JAB.

I know I am dreaming but I would like to see a JAB-Orozco CB pairing in Sarajevo. Orozco has looked good in the Gold Cup, let's see what he does against a strong competitor on their turf.

brooks-cameron in bosnia would make a lot of sense. maybe one last look at gooch. you could spare the MLS guys (and orozco) the long trip and taking them away from clubs

thats my CBs for bosnia guess

So why didn't Brooks appear with the German U21s in the euros? Did they have 4 CBs in front of him? Sobering, if so.

In Europe, U21s are like U23s

Brooks was always likely to be with Germany's U21 for 2015

A couple of good options so long as Gooch is fit. I never heard what happened to hom during the Cuba game. Anybody know?

Also Orozco is supposedly still in limbo as apparently there are issues with his contract at Puebla.

Gooch is terrible, I can't understand why people still have hope in him. He has less likelihood to be good again than Charlie Davies.

Reports are out that Germany Under-21 head coach Horst Hrubesch is asking Brooks to play in their friendly vs France next week instead of US vs Bosnia. They are on the same date so he has to chose. All though neither is cap tying it will be a pretty big statement which way he chooses. Germany is claiming they will release their roster tonight so shouldnt have to wait long to find out his choice.

Interesting. It would be a bit surprising if he chose a u-21 callup over a first team callup but yes, that would say a lot if he chose Germany. Not as much if he chose the Bosnia game.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
