You mean the 1-1 draw with New Zealand in October doesn't top your list!?!?
That 2009 Costa Rica game is the first one that comes to mind when I think about memorable games at RFK. Not the greatest result but as you highlighted there were so many storylines involved. Unfortunately, that game took place just before I moved to DC but I've been to every MNT game at RFK since then.
There have been a few more Gold Cup games and WCQs played at RFK but I think your list covers all the important games.

RFK has also hosted some less then memorable events too
1) Honduras 3 -US 2 Sept 1, 2001 ending 19 match unbeaten home qualifier streak
2) North Korea 2 - US 1 October 19, 1991 (I was at this match)
3) June 12, 1996 US 0 Bolivia 2
That's a wild game to have attended in person. Hey at least now decades later it's a piece of sports trivia.

I was also at the 4-0 blow-out of Mexico and the 2-0 loss to Bolivia. Used to be season ticket holder for DC United.
The North Korea match stands out as it was the only match I have attended where I actually played on a team with one of our players...it was his last cap. His son has now gotten a couple of caps but has been injured.

That sent me on a scavenger hunt. I didn't know Joe's dad and grandpa were both players let alone that his dad played for the MNT. Your story keeps getting better.

LOL I read the article earlier today when I found the youtube video of the "highlights" of the North Korea match. Philip had one hell of a left foot...pity he didn't get more of a chance...would have made a great left back.
My dad used to take me and my brother to see Joe's grandad and Lincoln Phillip's play for the Washington Darts. Too young to appreciate it though

I was at the 2009 Costa Rica game. In fact I was sharing an office with a Costa Rican at the time and we both went to the game. Needless to say it was a bit awkward at work the next day.

In two vomit worthy rumors, DC United is close to signing Nigel de Jong. Apologies in advance to the rest of the league.
Additionally, Thohir and Levien are reportedly looking for another minoroty owner and one of the names being floated is Dan Snyder.
The de Jong rumor feels quite likely, the Snyder rumor less so but I will be disappointed if either happen.

Didn't know where to put it but the ending to DC Orlando was FUCKING INSANE HOLY SHIT.
Rooney tackle then the cross field pass to Acosta for the game winner. MLS on crack is the best MLS.
