diskerud and holden have been completely average, given the level of competition. no one in their right mind would conclude that either of them has been the best CM in this tournament - that would be beckerman. and beckerman has just been beckerman, nothing special.

I was with you up until the last sentence. Beckerman has been a shadow of his former self during the Gold Cup. He has looked very solid on both ends of ball and I've never seen him play this good and this consistent.

He's been so good that I won't even be pissed next time JK calls him up and shockingly I actually think he has earned it. He's not a game changer like Bradley, Jones or Cameron but he's been on another level during the Gold Cup.

i dont want to be harsh, but i just dont think people are evaluating these guys very objectively. i suggest that people really need to remove their diskerolden goggles. or not,,,{RainorShine}

I am just trying to go inside klinsmanns head when I do the rosters. Klinsmann likes to switch things up make sure players arent comfortable. Other then maurice edu who I think he has kept on for 2 long I think for klijestan klinsmann was waiting for klijestan to step up but its telling that after the belgium game klijestan didnt get 1 minute in qualifying. I think klijestan deserves time and chances with the national team. Also I think bedoya might make it to the bosnia so I think I will switch out wooten with bedoya.

Klinsmann probably would call up edu if healthy but edu has been out injured for a while. I think diskerud has been above average but I think Klinsmann might want to see what he can do in the bosnia game give him 30 minutes or a half. I actually rate klijestan higher then diskerud but I think klinsman might rate diskerud higher now since klijestan hasnt been able to stick. Also klijestan just got part of his ear torn of so I am not sure if he will be able to go in the bosnia game.

Well due to Kljestan's injury it could jeopardize his spot for the friendly. He'll miss a few weeks.

Kljestan has shown over and over again against speed of the International level and pressuring, he fails. Under pressure, he's no better than Edu. With plenty of time, SK is a decent/good player.

Mix hasn't truly been tested yet against top competition and until he switches leagues to better test himself, I don't see him as a realistic A squad option. Potentional, yes.. proven potential, not yet.

Stu has, in the past, been a realistic A squad option. Can he get his consistency back is the question, if he sees a run at Bolton this upcoming season he is well above SK and Mix going into the 2O14 WC.

The Bosnia match... I'd be extremely disappointed if we saw someone like SK start. I hope we start players who we believe have the potential to impact the WC.

I would think that Bradley and Jones would be our starters in Bosnia. Possibly Cameron but he may be used as a CB.

Obviously Holden won't be on the roster now.

Cm's: Diskerud, Jones, Bradley, Williams, Kljestan, Cameron(Cm/CB)

Doesnt seem likely that Kljestan will be ready. I don't think we will need 5 CMs anyway.

It would be cool to see Connor O'Brien with holden and kljestan likely out but I highly doubt that happens.

Bedoya will probably be there now. He can play inside or on the wing and unlike Corona or EJ will already be in Europe

In what capacity has he been good? Defensively, thats it! He has been average at best offensively. That wont be good enough when you play legit teams, especially the likes of Bosnia.

Against Honduras and Panama(the best teams we faced) when we were given possession, we did not do a good job of breaking down the central midfield. Most of our really good chances came from long balls, air and ground, to the wings. He is STILL too slow on the ball, and RARELY passes the ball to a player with a defender near him. When he does, its always a long ball which turns into a 50/50 battle. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

There are too many guys ahead of him on the depth chart that can play defense just as well and are 5x better with the ball.

He deserved his moment in the sun, but thats it for me going forward.

I think besler and gonzo will start.. I think both are over brooks at this point,, but time could change... Just imagine a versatile backline of gonzo and brooks it would be fun.. All the gonzo haters he is much better than brooks currently.. Gonzo goes up and scores goals, and is quick with his feet brooks never would go up and score.... And my starting back line for wc 2014 is Fabian lb, gonzo, besler, cb, timmy rb..

If Julian Green is on this roster with Johanssen and Brooks it will be a fanboy's dream.
