Aron Johannsson wont be able to play but can attend the camp.

Ill go ape sh*t if we get shawn parker but he wont be able to play either.

Both these guys have to file a one time switch to suit up.

Johannson would have to file the one time switch to play. Thats unlikely but he stated on the record he'd love to go to a camp before deciding us or Iceland. Bosnia is the perfect time to bring him in to see if he's willing to commit or not

Would be cool to see shawn parker, brooks, maybe lichaj if he does well

but if we get max points from the sept. Qualifiers, we could definitely throw in mls guys and europe guys who are on the outside looking in for the october qualifiers

Klinsy might bring starters to get more games but it would be cool to see.

Yes, but we all know that there will be a few games in May to evaluate even more before the WC team is named.

You're right in theory, but those May friendlies are typically used as a last attempt to fine tune the squad of players that will be at the WC. Klinsmann should have his 23 in mind by that time.

No doubt, but both Gomez and Buddle played themselves onto the final roster in those May 2010 friendlies.

I think that was mostly due to the fall out from the Davies injury and not having a long time to find his replacement. Of course if a main starter gets injured from the sept or oct qualies, or this season we'd be in the same position.

So now that Brooks has been revealed I am going to do an update on a possible 23. Remember like BShredder stated there are few friendly games, but I think with the Bosnia friendly he may experiment a little. So here goes for an updated Bosnia 23.

GK: Howard, Guzan
Defense: Chandler, Lichaj, Brooks, Cameron, Ream( look at LB), Goodson( for experience), Fabian

Cm's: Bradley, Jones, Holden, Diskerud, Williams, Kljestan

Attackers: Donovan( get up to speed with these guys), Deuce, Altidore, Wooten, Shea, Hoyos(Probably not, but you never know), Johansson, Boyd

Dolo will still be out recovering from his injury/ surgery.

I'd go with that 23, prob not wooten or hoyos tho. Maybe Wood.

I'll take Connor O'Brien as my wild card. I think Sarajevo will finally be his time to get called up (and then not play Jack Mac style)

My 23:

Goalies: Howard, Guzan

Defenders: F. Johnson, Brooks, Lichaj, Chandler, Cameron, Besler, Gonzo

Midfielders: Bradley, Jones, Holden, Diskerud, Williams, Kljestan

Attackers: Dempsey, Altidore, Donovan, Boyd, Johansson, Wooten, Wood, Shea

Minimal MLS guys as usual. If JK still has Besler-Gonzo as his #1 CB pairing he will call them in as much as possible since they are still pretty inexperienced. And donovan needs to be reintegrated with the team so hes in.

Last August friendly he called in two uncapped young players in gatt and gyau, this year its wood and wooten for me.

Johannsson might not play though since he has said he wants to attend a US camp first before he makes a decision and to play he would have to file a one-time switch, cap-tying him.

Anybody know when the 23 will report to Sarajevo? I'll be in Berlin for work for a few weeks and Hertha plays their season opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sat. Aug 10.

I'll probably go to the game no matter what but I would love to see JAB play for Hertha and then head to Sarajevo afterwards. Any chance that this is realistic?

The 23 will report on the 11th or 12th if I am not mistaken. No one will miss any games so you should be able to see brooks play for hertha.

If klinsmann does what he did for his last european friendly he will call up only 20 players. However I think he makes it 21 this time since johansson will be in just for the camp.

Goalies: Howard, Guzan

I think klijestan played himself out of the 20 with his poor performance against belgium. My guess is klinsmann drops him for this game as a semiwake up call. I also think danny williams doesnt get the call up and he falls behind holden and diskerud in the pecking order. This due to holden and diskeruds performances in the gold cup. I also dont think edu has shown enough to keep getting call ups. I really think holden and diskerud are ahead of all three of these players for now after their performances in the gold cup. I think brooks wood and wooten all play in the bosnia game.

diskerud and holden have been completely average, given the level of competition. no one in their right mind would conclude that either of them has been the best CM in this tournament - that would be beckerman. and beckerman has just been beckerman, nothing special.

diskerud cant find a way to contribute offensively for one of the better teams in a very weak, sub-MLS league. had a shot to show he offers something new and really did not come up with anything compelling. needs to blow it out in final or there is very little chance at a ticket to brazil.

holden has been slightly less impressive than diskerud, so...

i dont want to be harsh, but i just dont think people are evaluating these guys very objectively. i suggest that people really need to remove their diskerolden goggles. or not,,,

as far as bosnia - if healthy, id look for gooch and edu - couple more euro-based guys with a short trip to bosnia

And the thing about Kljestan's game against Belgium was it was against Belgium. It's really hard to compare him with holden and diskerud since the level of competition was so different. I'm sure kljestan would have played really well in this tournament.
