Looks like so far herc is the only confirmed depature. There will be no switches at the goalkeeping position.

I think its pretty clear that Jurgen will make a choice, and the immediate forum reaction will be, "what the hell?" (rightfully so)

As long as its not Alan Gordon I will not have to do that. Now that you say that point somehow it will end up with him coming. Really hope pontius gets the call up for gomez even feilhaber or ej I would be okay with. Zusi would be a really good call up. I still havent seen anyone other then gomez get the boot so far. I think it might be the only switch but you never know with klinsmann. I dont think goodson will get the boot since he just got man of the match honors against costa rica.

From twitter:

"Eddie Johnson, Matt Besler, Omar Gonzalez, Alan Gordon, drops Ashe, Gomez, Onyewu and McInerney"

Very surprised to see Shea stay and Zusi not called in. Really glad to see Besler/Gonzalez called in granted I think Besler/Goodson wouldn't be a bad pairing to try out.

I think we'll see Eddie Johnson played on the wing and I think Gordon is a solid role player to have in your back pocket if you need a goal late in a game.

This team still lacks wingers, unless Shea's gonna wake up but the defense should be very solid (hopefully).

I really dont like the call up of alan gordon you arent gaining anything with him in camp. He wont be a diffrence maker in this tournament guarantee you if he gets on the field he does nothing. Why would you drop a young player like jack mcinerny for alan gordon its stupid alan gordon is and will never be international quality. I guess I jinxed myself by saying alan gordon had no chance of being called up. You dont keep herc or jack and yet you bring in alan gordon. You dont even call up ponitus you call up alan gordon. Also why does klinsmann not keep mcinerney and gomez to challenge wondo I still dont think he is undisputed starter bruin and gordon wont challenge the starting spot at all.Jack deserved some playing time I guess klinsi got eric wynaldas message if you arent playing them why not release them to their clubs also with ashe.
In fact wingers were my only concern and klinsi picks ej for the wing should be better then torres but if you are going to pick a winger might as well choose zusi. Centerbacks good for expirence although fiscal and goodson have impressed me. I swear if gonzo has another bad game klinsi needs to bench him besler has been saving gonzos ass throughout wcq now its time for gonzo to step up and bring his a game. If we win the gold cup great if we dont and its because gonzo or gordon affected it I will be really pissed off. Can someone tell me why Castillo is still on the roster and ashe isnt. If castillo isnt going to start at left midfield then why is he even on the roster with the call up of ej and shea remaning castillo will be the backup leftback and if beasley goes down we are screwed.

As much as everyone wouldve liked to see Jack Mac play, Klinsy made it clear that he'd just be soaking it all in. Throw in Besler and Gonzalez were good choices. EJ is versatile. Alan Gordon is and will be a bench player. No need to make a big fuss about him. But these callups mean Klinsy is going for broke. Besler.and Gonzo will most likely start good for them to get more games.

Gordon has a 0.001% chance to see the field. No need to get worked up about it. Jack Mac can get minutes with Phile or ride the bench for two more weeks. If this was during an actual break where MLS wasnt playing then Id agree with you. EJ was brought in to backup (or start on) the wing while being a viable back up up top. To me this shows JK is rolling with Wondo for the whole tourney as I dont see Bruin or Gordon getting starts at this stage. I hope that he either sticks with Goodson and MOF or goes to Omar and besler but doesnt mix and match. After everyone telling me how important cohesion at the backline is why bring them in if your not going to build that.

I like the Besler-Gonzalez call ups for two reasons. One, solidifying the center of the backline with our A-team starters is going to make us really hard to break down. And second, unless Cameron starts playing CB at Stoke it seems like JK is going with these two as starters for the World Cup so the more reps they get together the better.

I think EJ is brought in to challenge Wondo. EJ should not be playing on the wing. Klinsmann dropped two forwards and brought in two forwards.

Its not a coincidence that once Wondo went up against a solid team, he looked bad. I watched the game again yesterday, and how he sailed that shot on the pass from Bedoya was pathetic. He had plenty of space.

You have to think with Besler and Gonzo coming in that they will be starting and thats perfectly ok by me.

ALOLan Gordon. I swear this national team comes across as a clique sometimes.

i think these next 3 games is GAME-ON regarding the starting RCB spot and i will not be surprised if goodson comes out the winner. goodson takes an awful lot of shit even though he very rarely puts a foot wrong. the guy is not great, but he is rock solid - something that can not really be said about gonzo right now.

as for besler. has been completely solid, but any slip i think opens the door for bocanegra - who i think is still "potentially" the best CB. at worst, he is in the top 4. who is better? orozco - who plays RB at puebla? and i dont see cameron as a legit CB option

really hoping EJ plays forward, not on wing. if its not shea, why play EJ wide and LD central? knowing that jozy and dempsey have central attacking positions locked down, why is LD not seeing more time wide?

The McInerney & Gomez drops are obvious. Glad to see Mixx and Shea are staying though. IMO, I could care less about Ashe. Onyewu needs to go get his club situation fixed up - nothing against him, not a great tourney for him but he wasn't really bad either.

Definitely not hurting to have our central backline shored up by two A-teamers - they could use the experience playing with each other. EJ has been pretty good so I can see that call.

I don't really get the complaining on Gordon, though. On one side, the guy will likely ride the pine and not make a single contribution. On the other side, let us not forget the Antigua game where he made a great assist to EJ to put it away. Sure, he's not our best player by leaps and bounds. I'm just not really bothered by this. As far as strikers go, Wondow and anyone playing that roaming midfield position (LD, Corona, Torres, etc.) will have the top locked down. I'm anticipating the complaints when JK drops him in for five minutes and he doesn't make a noticeable contribution. It's not a big deal and shouldn't be interpreted that way.l

The complaint is Alan Gordon is not a good soccer player. I personally dont care that he was called in, because I dont think he's sees the field. But there is a better way to use that roster spot. Between Wondo, EJ, and Bruin, the forward position is covered. Would of made more sense to bring in a wide midfielder. But why do something that makes sense?
