Short article, no reporting from the writer...just paraphrasing the report from a Belize news station. Still, definitely worth looking into...we can't have these kinds of shenanigans near our team as we start to become more established on the world stage.

Like we'd actually have to bribe Belize's players to win that game...if it's true, obviously just some bookies playing the odds (asked to players to lose by 5 goals or more or something like that). Not our fault or anything. This would be disappointing for us but as it was nice to have scored six goals but who really cares that much anyway? It's our B team against Belize. Nonetheless, very disappointing and typical of CONCACAF (it seems like a shady region).

@dolcem. There are things other than win/loss or goal differential that can be bet on. They could have been approached to make sure they lose by double digit goals. Or to have a certain player with high odds (like Corona) to score the first goal. Or have the first goal scored between 5-10 minutes. Things like that where a player or two can influence it by leaving a player onside, marking a certain player and letting him by him, etc

I know, I was just using a hypothetical example.

Fantastic point, lots of stuff that can be bet on, any allegations of attempted match fixing should be investigated.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
