I swear it defies the laws of physics. ESPN should do one of those sports science bits on him.

As I said a little over a month ago, there is still room on the bandwagon for Green fans and haters alike. Now he is in the first team playing with the other great players. If Ancelotti didn't want him and wasn't going to use him, he wouldn't have made the team. Especially with so many games and some rickety players, it wouldn't shock me to see Green get in games at the beginning of the season. It's a big year for Bayern, especially in the champions league. I think we see substitute appearances from the first game and see where it goes from there. It's up to Green how much time he gets. Yes, Levandowski and Müller are ahead of him obviously, but both are different players than Green. He may still get sold or Bayern could add one more player, but both those seem unlikely at this point. So hop on or off the bandwagon but please, let go of your irrational hate for Green. Only fickle idiots are mad about a guy who scored on his first touch and appearance at a World Cup.

Especially if Arsenal somehow persuade Bayern with a crap ton of money for Lewandowski. It would be crazy if Green was the starting striker for Bayern if this happens.

Julian in the 18 today for Bayern vs Dortmund in Super Cup. No Pulisic available today. Hopefully green sees some minutes

Do you think it is his best move to stay at Bayern this season and get spot minutes here and there and an occasional start or go somewhere on loan and get a lot of playing time and hope things are better than his last loan?

Ancelotti said he will be part of the team this season but i doubt he sees much playing time. Heck once Robben, Koman, and Costa return he won't even be making the 18 probably.

While Green is facing a lot of competition for playing time (Muller, Lewandowski, Ribery, Robben, Koman, Costa, etc...) Bayern will be in a number of competitions this year and there is always the possibility of injuries (especially to older players). Since Green made the bench today for the start of the season there are signs that he'll be in contention for some minutes.

The only way I see him getting a decent amount of minutes this year is as a striker. There are just too many guys ahead of him on the wings.

Green's prospects of time looked decent during preseason, but after the manager failed to give him mop-up minutes after numerous chances to do so, it looks like it's time for him to find a loan or a transfer during the January window.
He needs to be playing if he wants to compete for a spot on the USMNT squad. There are too many quality players emerging and/or returning to the player pool. If he's not getting minutes at the club level, he won't be able to compete for the US.

Clubs like Bayern are horrible places for youngsters to develop. He was never going to get any PT there this season.

As long as he's getting good training and not just sitting keeping him sharp for a January transfer move.

It's the best thing for him, he has to realize this.

I dont think a jan transfer is likely. His contract is up in May. Most clubs wont make any kind of decent offer as they know he'll be a free transfer in the summer window. Unless a team can workout an extension ahead of time then its pointless. Also Bayern will likely rather hold onto him for depth reasons/injury protection, then sell him for practically nothing. Not like they need the small amount of money theyd get for him.

Also it could depend on what bayern does in winter. If they add another striker they may be more willing to move him but my guess is he rides the pine until the summer and then moves to a lower table team (frankfurt? ingolstadt? newly promoted team?)

He should have left when he had the chance. I admire his determination to try to play with the best but sometimes reality has to kick in. Its not always a bad thing to start at the bottom and work your way to the top. Many great players today have had to do it that way.

I do want to point out though, the thing that I love about Pulisic is the hubris.

This is both in Green AND of course was in Adu.

And to be quite honest, my estimation of skills I think Adu was best out of all of them. Guys, calm down, not asking for him to be included back into the national team.

Sometimes hubris works sometimes it doesn't, in Green's case what he can follow different from Adu is to now accent where you are and be modest eat some humble pie, wreck the Dutch league and then go back to being cocky.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
