It's like not liking a puppy.

Love that line...
I dont look at the US team as the French team where every player has huge egos they cant control. Like Aron Johansson said in an interview after he arrived,"like most Americans they are open and welcoming."

If this offers Klinsi the opportunity to rid the team of egotistical humans like Eddie Johnson and Brek Shea then I wont argue. I would rather have a team full of well mannered and respectful individuals.

How could there be a locker room issue when Dempsey GAVE HIM A jersey in order to woo him, the Ger-Americans all like him, he is a young likeable quiet guy. Who would get rubbed off by him in the wrong way if gets a WC spot? It's like not liking a puppy.

It's nothing against Green. I've spoken to Green twice and he's very likeable.

It's about the perception of giving him a WC spot when no one else has been given one. That could be dangerous.

We all know Dempsey was thinking, "Who would I rather have trying to pass me the ball so I can score and get more attention: Julian, or Brek??"

In that light, I'm sure even just a two day training session in Frankfurt was enough to convince certain members of the USMNT and staff. The players know who is good and who is not, and I think Dempsey and the pedigreed players like Howard recognize a talent when they see one.

This Mexico training session will be important in my opinion for Donovan to train with and hopefully play with Julian in the game. If the established hierarchy of the team accepts Julian as a good player, the rest is not very important to me. Julian Green and his attitude and performance these next two months will determine his spot.

I am praying he gets the switch by time of Mexico. I NEED to see him play with us. At least 30 minutes, although let's be serious, I want to see him for 90 minutes in that friendly.

For anyone that thinks that Green wasn't good enough for Germany, can go read the MLS article on how Lows coaching staff was heavily courting him up until he made the decision to rep the USA.

So there you have it, Germany were not happy about losing him.

Supposedly Guardiola was very supportive of Green opting for the USMNT. Pep has hinted to the fact that he might like to coach the USMNT one day. Is he setting himself up to have Green for the 2022 WC cycle during Green's prime? Pure speculation of course, but it does get one thinking.

I respect Pep's accomplishments, but I would rather someone else manage the MNT. Looking at the teams he has managed, they were/are usually head and shoulders above the competition and his teams play the same way. While this is great and attractive football, it is easy to do when you are clearly better than the opposition. But, against other good teams with good tactics, he has been found out from time to time. While that is rarely the case with Barca or Bayern, only in CONCACAF would this be the case.

Getting back on topic...great news about Green. I hope he has a chance to prove his worth prior to the WC.

Could you guys imagine Green coming on in like the 65th minute vs Germany and USMNT needed a win to advance and Green buries and we beat Germany?!!?!?!

Maybe Jones crosses to Green in the 89th or so for the game winner? A fan can dream.

Great news about Green, I didn't believe it until I had seen it about 5 times from reputable sources. Go go USA!

Well looks like the bandwagon is rolling heard rumors Sean parker is leaning/committing to the USA soccer program. Wow if is true how amazing will klissmans recruiting class be ? Reminds me of Alabama, USC back in the day in NCAAF recruiting.

Bro, you make a comment about this topic without providing a link ????

Where did you hear this?

I found this article about getting Parker/Zalalem a few hours ago but its a weak source

Saw it on a Twitter comment. Most likely rumors.

There is something that should be said of Green, he is raw and may get very nervous and unhinged on the international stage: The same could be said for Brek Shea yet we were ready to let him do it in the WC. I say if Green has a positive impact in the Mexico game, he should play a similar sort of last 20 minutes Shea boost role in Brazil.

Well, the good thing is he has 4 games to prove himself and gain some experience!

Safe to say FIFA's change of national teams gets approved quite quick these days.

Green is now officially tied to the USMNT.
