Well, we don't know what JK told Julian Green before the last call up. JK may have already told him in a thinly veiled manner that he'd take him to Brazil. I doubt there's ever an explicit quid pro quo for any player.

Anyway, I'd be all for JK telling Green he will go to Brazil if his current development trajectory continues if he makes his one time switch. Will he be one of our best 23 in 8 months? Maybe. Will he be one of our best 23 in 2018? Probably.

I streamed the game right when he came on. Perfect timing.

Not enough time to gage his performance, but from what I could see on the $h** stream, his passes got blocked.

Got to see the game he didn't do anything to hurt the team and nothing special either. With that said rumor is he might make the 18 for the next league game.

How many American players could make Bayern's 18? I don't think any could.

If he gets any PT for this team (and I think they'll be remembered as one of the best ever, last season was phenomenal and now they're even better) I think you have to start considering him over players like Zusi, EJ, Davis, etc. I don't think he'll ever want to play for us. But at least having a German legend as the coach helps our chances.

Hmmm could of sworn donovan made their 18 several times. And scored various goals in pre season. green has to get playing time with the first team first.and impress before germany calls him. But usa is desperate to get a promising prospect...

Terrence Boyd made Dortmund's 18. Julian Green could end up being as good as Terrence Boyd, (an average to slightly above average player).

Ok so lets be clear body did not make Dortmund's 18 when he was 18 and That Dortmund team is no near as good as this Bayern team. Second your right LD did make the 18 for a Bayern team that was not that great back then and also had many injuries. Green in the mls right now would be in top five in scoring at 18. He plays is the reserves and many of those team could hang with most MLS teams the only thing that they would struggle with is the size and strength in the MLS. The reserve teams in Europe are for young up incoming guys that are between 16-23 compared to grown men in the mls. I will say this now if we loss this guy in the long run it will be 10 times worse then losing rossi because this kid can and will play for Germany's national team if he stays in there system.

Landon Donovan played for Bayer Leverkusen at 18 not Bayern Munich, and at that time Bayer Leverkusen was a better team than Bayern Munich.

I am not really worried who he chooses because the US has a ton of talented FWDS in his age range. It won't be catastrophic nor is it going to hurt the US that much.

From what I understand he is roughly 60-40 in favor of Germany.

He has a lot of work ahead of him to actually play for Bayern's first team consistently this season. Players like Gotze, Robben, Muller, Mandzukic, Ribery, Shaqiri, Pizzaro all play positions that he plays.

Good luck to him for whatever choice he makes. But don't expect him to make that choice anytime soon. He has time.

Can't make that comparison until Green actually becomes a consistent first team player for any team.

He is talented as hell, and is widely considered one of Germany's most talented players in his age group.

He would definitely be the US's most talented player at the U-20 age group with Arriola a tad behind him.

At the moment arriola is proving it and playing for a very good team in a good league. Green has yet to prove it with the first team. Would like to see him get loaned in the winter so we could see him play 1st team Minutes.
