Green is getting his chance to run with the big boys at Bayern. I love how Pep tries to integrate the youngsters as much as possible.

We already have a thread on him.

We have to try to stop having multiple threads on the same topics. Discussion gets lost

You need to have a search bar for your threads or some easier way to locate a topic.

I really dont understand the YA format and I have a hard time finding a thread since there are so many different categories. I dont even bother starting a new thread.

This kid's a monster. Hope he develops well and chooses us. Either way great player and can't wait to see him grow up.

Bild in Germany is reporting that Klinsmann has called up Julian Green for the Scotland and Austria friendlies.

Now the immediate reaction is hell yes, but when taking a closer examination Julian Green will not be eligible to play in those games unless he files for a one-time switch to the US. Remember he was provisionally tied to Germany when he suited up for Germany's U-19's for their UEFA U-19 qualifying games in October.

Bild also reported that Klinsmann is promising him a legitimate shot at a 2014 WC spot. DOn't know if I agree with that if that is true.

Also, I would hope other promising youngsters who are seeing first team minutes i.e. Holmes and Arriola are also being called in November.

Also Julian Green still has to except said call-up.

Another thought. It seems like I stated that Klinsmann is not really happy about the winger positions. Green would for sure be a winger in Klinsmann's system.

I think the heat will be on, and like I stated I fully expect Klisnmann to be tinkering with player personnel all the way up to May of 2014. And I don't think Klisnmann is set on more than 8 to 10 players right now for that final 23 man squad.

No one is. The three attacking midfielders in the 4-5-1 are what drive the attack, and aside from Donovan and Dempsey we have no one. Bedoya is proving it at the club level but has to really impress with the NT. After that, we're looking at players like EJ, Zusi, and Davis on the depth chart, who have played very admirably in CONCACAF but will be in way over their heads against decent opposition. I would definitely take Green or Arriola over those three at this point. Green is a long shot but I'm really hoping Arriola gets a good amount of PT this year and makes his way into the fold.

According to USAProspects(I don't know how reliable this source is) his dad told USAProspects that he would like to see his son get called up. I hope to see him come November in a USMNT jersey. Remember he also need to file his one time switch as he is currently tied to Germany. If he does that he is officially tied to the USMNT and there is nothing he can do to change it back.

It will be a turn around in Julian Green's thinking if he decides to file for that one-time switch. Because previously he had stated that even though Klinsmann had been in touch with him, that he was solely focused on Bayern Munich.

So, if Bild is reporting that Klinsmann has stated that Green has a legitimate shot at the 2014 WC squad then there might be some merit in that if Green acccepts a call-up and subsequently files a one-time switch.

Anyways exciting times for the USMNT and some younger talented players to be involved all the way up to May of 2014. I suspect this might be the first in a series of younger players coming into the USMNT in the next 5 to 7 months.

Well he has to file a 1 time switch. He might accept the call and just practice with the team but needs to file if he wants to play.. I think he will accept the call up but wont file for the switch yet.

Well Julians dad is American and has been very outspoken about him wanting to see Julian play for the USMNT. So I would say that his statement is about 99.9 percent true.

Reportedly he will file the 1 time switch to play for USA if klissman offers him a spot on the world cup. What does everyone think ? should he do it ? Who is left out, EJ, boyd, Zusi, ? is going to be very tough.. But he did accept the call up for November, all thats next is the 1 time switch.
