I know this is not an american soccer related theme, but just for curiosity: I would like to know what is the NATIONAL REQUIREMENTS to call a player to a national team that is not actually a country such as Martinique.

Aside from that, as i'm also curious, what are the rules for calling in players to WCQ's at this point? Can we call someone in anytime we want? Or is there a regulation involved.

I realized that many players are french in Martinique MNT. Their flags are France. Could they play for France and for Martinique.

Could the France/Martinique be similar to Spain/Catalonia? Don't members of the Spanish national team also play for Catalonia in friendlies? I remember years back US playing Catalonia and them having a few top Spanish NT players

You're right joey11. They elegible to play France and Martinique since Martinique is not a FIFA member. But my question about national requirements still stands.

For non FIFA nations like Martinique and Guadeloupe its something like they can't have represented France in the last 3 years or something. That way they can't bring in French regulars for any reason. If your eligible to play for Martinique your automatically eligible for France and playing for Martinique doesn't cap tie you as it's not an official member.

Here is another question on this topic...As remote a possibility as it is, if Martinique were to win the Gold Cup, can they represent CONCACAF at the Confed Cup if they are not recognized by FIFA?

I dont beleive so. I would go to the team that lost to them in the final. Now hypothetically if martinique won, and gained FIFA membership before 2017 it would be interesting how they handled it

What about the USVI? They have players born state side. How exactly does that work? Can I go play for them?! Lol
