I think most fans would agree. The difficulty is that we don't have many "Friendlies" left at this point. This is why many wanted Williams called into the GC...why Lletget's injury was such a blow...why Roldan is getting a lot of interest....etc. The fans, at least, are looking for alternatives to Bradley and are putting forth names/options. Problem is that there are only so many matches remaining between now and the WC.

Moving Cameron forward into the CDM roll requires us to find a quality RCB to partner with Brooks. Someone to organize the backline. Most hope this happens, but until Miazga, CCV, or someone else (and don't say ball watching OG), steps up we need to keep Cameron on the backline. Again not much time left to vet a new CB and develop enough chemistry between now and the WC.

When Did OG get caught ball watching? Even if he did during a game did it result in a goal? Because there have been TWO incidents where Cameron's callousness have resulted in goals. Most memorably in the WC against Portugal. This coming from a guy who ABSOLUTELY LOVES Cameron.

I don't think we drop off that much with Cameron at CDM and Gonzo at CB, I think we get poorer playing from the back. Which we should get away from anyway since Arena is safety first, and we should all be on board with that... and honestly, has any taken a good glimpse of the international landscape? People HOPE to see you play the short ball to CB's. They want to pressure you into mistakes, like the ones Spain made against Dutch, or Chile forced on Mex in the 7 - 0 debacle.

Most importantly tho, we get better or equal defensive presence. People forget the runs Germany made in WC and he snuffed them all out.

"Williams was not present for the first day of Reading's preseason, according to the Reading Chronicle. The development comes a week after Williams was reportedly on the verge of signing with English Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town on a free transfer, according to the Daily Star"

Maybe ball watching wasn't the right phrase. Call them "Gaffs". I can think of a handful of games where his mistakes directly led to goals against. I could almost accept it if is was only against good teams/players (Cameron against Portugal), but not when it's against sub-par opponents. A prime example was the game against Guatemala where OG & Orozco were the starting CB partnership and the "fish" made them look stupid multiple times.

Really? You want to go back to the era of boom-ball...huffing it up field and praying for 50/50 balls? Sorry, but no-one should be on board with that. The other thing we loose is Cameron's organization of the defense. Brooks & Yedlin both seem to play better when Cameron is with them on the back-line...providing direction/shifts.

The only aspect of the game Omar is better than Cameron is in the Aerial battles.
Omar is an option if we're going to bunker and counter, conceding possession. But if the desire is to possess the ball and break down opponents than OG is not a good option IMO.

Should be interesting to see where he fits into the USMNT equation going forward. I thought it was as quite strange he wasn't at least on the 40 man prelim roster.

have we been booting the ball with Bruce Arena?

did Germany play with danger out of the back?

these aren't binary conditions, there's plenty of room for stylistic differences

Germany's Rudinger booted the ball when he was pressured, their midfield tried to find through balls, prob successful on 30 to 70 percent of the times on those respectively. Again I ask, does anyone think we can play like the way Germany did, and the way they won it? And does anyone think this is bad?

... well the answer of course is the first sequence on offense where conor casy "wins" a header and it falls to Altidore, but after that, if you were to tell me that was germany playing, and I couldn't see skin color, uniforms, etc everything up to the last part in finishing... that's literally what I saw from Germany in the Confed cup.

Safety first. And this is a gainst a team in Costa Rica that was, imo as good as us. As I contiually say they come here and don't embarrass them selves (save for that 4-0 in Copa tryouts) and we go to their house and get slammed.

Long Ball w/ purpose like your link or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_DEk6geR7E (ARG Vs USA). There is a difference between hitting a long ball to a wide open teammate, or into space for your teammate to run into as seen in the attached highlights. ARG found where our gaps were and exploited them hand us a humiliating defeat at home.
The US can and does do the same thing to weak teams. We pull them out of position, and then exploit the gaps. We did it to perfection against Honduras earlier this year for a 6-0 drubbing.

Boom Ball is where you're in desperate defending mode and just punt the crap out of the ball in order to give your defense a few moments to step forward and reclaim your shape. You've got 9 of your players in/around your own 18-25 and are forced to smack the ball away. You won't see it in highlights, but if you go back and watch full matches of the US Vs. Spain (Confed Cup) or US Vs. ARG/COL (Copa America) you'll see many examples of this type of play from the US. It happens when teams are clearly over-matched by their opponents. This doesn't happen much anymore to the US when playing CONCACAF teams, but when we're playing top sides from SA or EU it does still happen more frequently than most of us would like.

The first game vs Colombia, once Geoff Cameron performed that spin move (dangerous) Colombian attackers were less inclined to over play him. Everything else was inability of Zardes to trap a ball.
