Interesting comments by Danny, especially regarding MLS players. It is nave on my part to only think Mexico would use their home league players to base their marketing strategies. Almost cost them a berth in 2014, it cost us one for sure in 2018.

For me, One of the most telling quote/statement in the article was "but Bruce Arena emailed me and said you're in the picture but I haven't really seen you.' And I thought that was a bit strange because you must know your players, don't you?"

Bruce was hired to replace Jurgen on 11/22/16. He didn't preside over any camps involving European players until 3/24/17. Basically 4 months to watch tape on or visit all the players within the player pool and develop a depth chart. Apparently he didn't bother. He used the Gold Cup to see players from MLS & Liga MX...called very few European players and those he did call up barley got on the field (Hedges over Miazga...McCarty over Williams...Pontious over anyone).
The Gold Cup was where I knew we were in serious trouble with Bruce as the Coach, and where it became clear that there was an agenda to push MLS players.

Danny starting against Chelski today.

Also, 5 Americans starting today between Germany and England. Williams, Cameron, Brooks, Chandler, Pulisic. And Stanko is on the bench for Freiburg.
