Interesting move..

I think he'll do well for one of the better teams in the Championship.

I think it will be tough for him to make the World Cup team next year. There are just too many CMs in his way

Reading ?? Is a downgrade in both team, and league, but if it gives him a starting role good for him..

Wow. Did not see that coming. Yes it will be tough for him to break into the WC team IMO.

See the article up now on the main page - not the worst move I've seen. I guess if he's falling down the bench then this could be good for him. Had to look up Reading's current lineup to refresh myself on his new teammates and who he'll compete with for PT:

- On D, Bridge, Carrico, Gorkss, Mariappa, Shorey are all decent players.
- In the midfield, Leigertwood (and maybe Guthrie) are the only ones I know of in a central position. McAnuff is good on the wing as is Robson-Kanu. Hopefully he won't have too much competition for a central spot.
- Forwards - Pogrebnyak, Hunt, Church, Le Fondre, McCleary & Roberts - all decent strikers to work with.

Who knows? Maybe this will work out positively for him, especially if a good lineup surrounds him. Looks like Leicester, Leeds, Bolton & Middlesbrough are the ones making the push for promotion next season - but, as always, we'll see about that.

Not a bad move. This reading team has some good players, they could push for promotion. @ CBoyd, they also just signed Royston Drethe, who is also a class player. He was awesome for Everton 2 years ago, on loan from Real Madrid.

I can see why he made the move, he prob is hoping for a quick jump back into the PL. It will def be hard for him to get in the US squad..too deep at CM.

Two Americans at Reading now, following Aleks Gogic.

So that's where he is....Royston is a hot-head but definitely skilled on the ball. Made an impression at Goodison for sure - thanks for the update.

Good move for, them. Their defense was bad but they never had problems scoring. He can help them fight back into the Prem.

Bobby Convey 2.0. Except their games gave nothing in common but het at least Reading likes these young americans.

It's a smart professional move. I think he will do very well at Reading.

I just hope they play him as a #6 DM, IMO his best position.

From what I'm reading on the Twitter, he played really well. He came off the bench. Fans were impressed by his play. Hopefully he'll start in the future.

Williams with the assist for Readings goal in the first half. He is playing really well since coming back from injury two weeks ago.

If Reading win today they will be on 31 points and only 4 points off of an automatic spot for promotion to the EPL.
