Is this the big move Taylor Twellman was talking about?

Not sure why you'd be heart broken. He's pretty much (or its likely) that he's choosing MLS over Austrian League, Belgian League, Bundes 2, maybe Eredivise. Thats a great sign that he thinks MLS is just as good for his career as those other leagues.

Well, dont go making a conclusion based on assumptions. You could be right, or maybe the kid saw more dollar signs from MLS than those other leagues, which is fine too. I'd rather watch this kid than Kljestan any day of the week.

There is also a trade happening with DC today, I wonder if DC is trading for him?

Either way what a great signing for MLS. The kid is very talented.

I didn't even think about that, it very well could be. DCU also announced that Michael Seaton would be out for 1 month. Coupled with the season ending injury to Connor Doyle I was thinking that DC would be bringing in some additional depth up top to help with the crowded schedule this month.

Best part of this move to Crew is he will most likely be available for u20 qualifiers now.

WHOA! As a columbus fan that makes me excited, but a little baffled as to why Lorient let him go so easily.

its always happening in youth academies especially for a small team like that. But seems like top quality ball movement. Its exciting because his skill of play can fit Crew very nicely.

Romain Gall is one of the best players on the current US U18 team. Last month he had 2 goals and an assist against the Czech Republic. Then he scored against Portugal in a 1-1 draw just days later

He's a dual national with France and plays at FC Lorient. He could be a big player on the next U20 team heading towards the 2015 World Cup in New Zealand

Here's a new interview with Romain

This was just a couple of years ago.

Now Gall has signed to play in the third division of Sweden. He's a good reminder of what happens to most prospects.

Some guys just are not able to make that next step. It a whole new ballgame playing with the big boys as opposed to playing with the U-20's. He may just be a late bloomer too.

Berhalter on Gall:
"I'm not too pleased with how that ended up," he said. "I thought he had potential. We just weren't able to get it out of him, in terms of how he was going to fit in our system. Part of that is coaching, and we'll take responsibility for that. But I thought there was a lot to work with, and I'm just a little bit disappointed with how it ended up."
