Any thoughts on the captain for this team? Here are my candidates:

Donovan
Rimando
Beckerman
Beasley

Gotta be Donovan or Beasley. The only two with over 100 caps.

Players to watch in the WC Brazil tryout:
Donovan: energized and motivated, we hope
Onyewu - solid CB with size. Poses matchup problems. Is he in-form?
Holden - on the roster if he can regain form
Bedoya - lots of growth & improvement in Sweden. Versatile 2-way player with speed.
Gatt - can he show more than speed?
Diskerud - can he handle physical play and better defending?
JMac - He's 20, but why not? He's earned a shot.
Corona - not sure what to expect here....

Goodson & Parkhurst in trouble if Onyewu steps up.
Beckerman in trouble in crowded CM
Beasley - take a break. You're a proven entity.
Castillo - give him minutes to blend in and showcase his talents
GK choice here rides the pine in Brazil.

I would really like to see Wooten, not that captying him is a concern, but he is a good versatile footballer (sort of like Eddie Johnson, but with more potential given his youth)

It was a leg injury. Subbed out in the 41st minute.

Per Steven Goff, Brian Sciaretta on Twitter

This really sucks. Truly sucks. Hope it isnt bad.

Shouldn't Gatt and Molde learn from past mistakes with Gatt, this has happened before with him the last game prior to an International.

Arghh, sit him out, USA is more important than club. Not really.. just sucks

Wooten is better than Gatt at the moment (this year), and I think may have a higher ceiling.

Agreed..

Rules... Do replacements after the group stage have to be part of the provisional 35 as well or can they be any player?
