Im glad I wasnt at the US vs el salvador game....

Id be sitting in jail because I wouldve knocked out every person in the crowd who threw the shit at the US players. Not person there wouldve stopped me.

On a happier note

I want 2 scenario's

Panama to beat mexico or we see mexico in the final and destroy them

Yeah it happened right to the left of our American Outlaws section you could see some of our fans running over to there to confront ppl they prolly didn't show it on tv, saw at least 4 fights break out around that aarea over the next 5 minutes

Mexico makes me nervous after watching their game against T&T the other night. After seeing Zelaya make light of us with excellent, close ball control, I wonder: Mexico's squad has a few players who are capable of that. Granted, they clearly aren't finishing like they should be, but it'll be a challenge to top that. All that being said, it's our game to lose. I don't understand why commentators have Mexico as the favorites other than being the holding champions. Talented, sure. Dominating? I think not.

I started a new thread for Gold Cup. This one is getting kinda long and hard to follow. Its Gold Cup 2013 Semi-Finals.

I think you can see a clear changing of the guard back to us. For example:

2012 WCQ 3rd round. USA goes 4-1-1 with only a +5 GD in easily the weakest group. Mexico goes 6-0-0 with a +13 GD, averags 3 goals a game against minnows El Salvador and Guyana.

2013 Gold Cup - Mexico 3-1 with a +4 GD in an extremely weak group (only group that didnt advance 3 teams). USA 4-0 with a +13 GD.

@MSantoine - agreed, Mexico has been uncharacteristically weak this year and we've been on a tear. The U23s were the same way and took their Olympic qualification as a foregone conclusion, and we all know how that turned out.

The Gold Cup has now come to an end. After an intense few weeks here's the way to finish with a bang.

@recycledhumans I read some Mexican fans saying this was their C team because the U23s are the B team. Do you find this true? Or are they just grasping at straws to make themselves feel better?

It depends on what you count as a B team. If you consider your 12-23 guy your B team, ie your reserves for your A team, then this was their C team (as it was ours). If you consider players 24-46 B team (with some top guys sprinkled in) then this was a B team. You can spin it either way

Of course Mexican fans are grasping at straws. Those same Mexican fans were claiming this specific Mexican team before the tournament was going to blow away the competition in the Gold Cup, and that this team had a lot of their "Golden" generation players on it.

They are making excuses just like how USMNT fans made excuses back in 2009.

Like I said before, With our depth getting deeper, I could've named 4 teams of players and even an all MLS starting XI for the Gold Cup.

2009 we had the excuses. Bradley released all the Euro players once we got to the quarterfinals. Mexico had the same team.

Doesn't matter USMNT fans made excuses.

No doubt the US has talented depth. As you know I have been posting about that depth for the past two years.

Being the two whales in the sea of minnows that is Concacaf, I expect that there will always be one side or the other making excuses for why we/they didn't win.

We know we have the depth for the past couple years, the challenging part is to figure out Our best 23 and then Who is our best 11. Some players gel faster than others and play better with other players, so that's why klissman had a different line up for every game at the gold cup. I could put over 10 different lineups that could play great. Depth is good because the competition is higher and players know when their in the field they have to perform good if not they could lose their spot, it also includes lando, jozy, even demps, howard..
