yeah if the winner wins the next two GC they automatically get the bid for the next Confed Cup.

Also Since we didnt bring in any young players for this tournament.. The only positives we could find would have been the emergence of Gatt (maybe). Holden, Bedoya and Corona all staking their claim in midfield I really wanted to see Holden, Bedoya, Corona, and Mix all in midfield/attack together but that's wishful thinkin cuz we all know Beckerman is gonna be the Captain..

I would hope that they'd start that midfield 4 and leave Beckerman on the bench, but you're probably right about him getting the start and the captaincy...unfortunately.

I would be stunned if they don't start especially since castillo has been routinely picked off the bench in world cup qualifiers. Corona has been called up so much for the camp you would be really surprised if he isnt starting by the Guatemala game. Honestly I think bedoya and gatt were his most likely challengers on the right side since donovan will slot in the cf role and beasley probably at left midfield. With gatt likely out for the knockout round and feilhaber as his likely replacement I could only see bedoya challenging at his position for the guatamela and group stage game.

You could very well be correct with a BEASLEY-DONOVAN-CORONA attacking midfiled trio. Personally, since Shea is not available, I would like to see Donovan lined up on the left. I just cannot see Beasley, another year older, in Brazil. Since Fabian Johnson is the only other player that Klinsmann trusts at LB, we need options on the LW. Donovan can absolutely play there and excel. I would then really like to see Bedoya central, as I believe he is playing there for his club team, and producing. Then it has to be Corona on the right. While he's not an out and out winger, he can still play the role, a la Zusi, who is also not a true winger.

What I love about a DONOVAN-BEDOYA-CORONA attacking midfield line is they can interchange all across the field. Bedoya can play outside and Corona and Donovan can play inside. It's crucial to have that ability in a 4-2-3-1.

DMB is the Captain.

JK also spoke very highly of Beltran so don't be shocked if he starts, called him a 'special talent'.

Good for Beasley. Quality and class. But yeah Beltran is a good RB. He plays well for Salt Lake and could really challenge Chandler. I'd love to see him start.

I think beltran is good deffinetly not special talent yet but talk about a confidence booster. You have to feel beltran is primed for a good game against guatamela after he hears something like that. Although you never know what klinsmann does until match day comes. Good for beasley plays hard gives 100 percent will be a great captain. I like donovan but I think I agree with Klinsmann on this one, mabye donvoan will be a captain again in the future but for now Beasley is the right choice.

Apparently at one of the past training sessions klinsmann had parkhurst lining up at centerback and central defensive midfield talk about an intresting idea. Personally I would rather see parkhurst start at one of centerback positions then Goodson and Onyewu. Also if beckerman starts we could use a backup for his position since there are no other natural cdm in the 23. I like the move I always valued parkhurst more at centerback then right back hes a good right back but I think he is better at centerback. Although these are just training session moves but im hopeful the moves end up happening since I think we need another centerback and we could always use more depth at position.

Everything I've seen from Beltran has been solid but nothing special at all... hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Beltran was probably out worst player in the Canada friendly. Unless he's gotten a lot better since then he doesn't look international caliber to me

I hope we dont see Goodson and Gooch together in Center CB else we are gonna see the slowest pairing in COncacaf. I would rather see a Parkhurst and Gooch or Goodsong

Any last lineups for tomorrow night? Here's mine.

Jack Mac
Beasley-Corona-Donovan
Beckerman-Holden
Castillo-Gooch-Goodson-Beltran
Rimando

Klinsy has six subs so we'll see a bunch of guys get some time out on the field.

Good news everybody it appears that gatt and ashe will be able to play in the friendly against guatamela and will not miss any games for the gold cup. Klinsmann said that everyone is healthy and there are no injury worries for the guatamela game. Klinsmann also slammed the 45 day rule as being bad for concacaf and you cant predict injuries or loss of form during that time.
