Corey Ashe left with an injury (didnt really leave but after 90' he couldnt leave the field on his own). It looks like he was brought so Beas could play LM with Castillo at LB and Ashe off the bench. Other than Boca theres not a lot of LB guys on the provisional. With Gatt possibly out too it could send Castillo to the bench to back up Beasley with LD (or Wood or Herce) on the left wing

Two Gold Cup predictions:

1) Between the Gold Cup and the Guatemala Friendly Landon will reach the 150/50/50 milestone

2) Orozco Fiscal will be our starting RB after the tournament (given Dolo's injury and Chandler's fear of flying)

1 seems almost bound to happen. Will be great to see if it happens.

But 2 is interesting. I'm still holding out hope for Chandler once the Sept qualifiers roll by. Hope to see either OF or Beltran make some noise to see who will provide depth after Chandler.

If JK went with the most capped player at each position our starting XI would look like this:

LD-Gomez-Bedoya
Torres-Holden-Beckerman
Beasley-Gooch-Goodson-Parkhurst
Rimando

Will be interesting to see how many of these start. The pessimist in me says this may be it even though it is a perfect time to see guys like Castillo, Mixx, Corona, Mac, MOF, either young goalie.

You may be correct during the GC, but I have a suspicion that Yedlin will be given a chance at RB once the GC is over.

I have a strong feeling that all these young guys are going to get their chance for the January camp

This roster could go in so many directions that it's really tough to predict. I'll go with the following:

----------Herc-----------
-Beasley---Joe Benny--Landon-
------Holden--Beckerman-----
-Castillo-Goodson-Gooch--Orozco-
----------Rimando----------

Jurgen Klinsmann, king of saying absolutely nothing. Someone in the media needs to throw an iraqi shoe at him (only an iraqi shoe will do).

If Corona and Castillo don't start, you have to question why they are even called into the WCQ squads. Can't wait to see this lineup against Guatemala.

Just dismiss this if I am wrong...but if the US win the 2013 and 2015 Gold Cups...will there be a playoff to get to the 2017 Confederations Cup? Lets say Panama is runner up this time and Mexico next time, there is no way they could have a runner-up v. winner unless the runner-up is the runner-up in both events. So...if the US win this Gold Cup does that mean CONCACAF will want Mexico to win the next edition if the US wins this one...as they will likely lose the playoff and hence big $???

Idk how accurate this is but it says if the same team wins both events(the 2013 and 2015 GC's) there will be no playoff and that team will just advance to the 2017 CC.

I don't trust the credibility of this article b/c it also mentions the top 6 teams in the 2015 GC will advance to the 2016 Copa America...which is not even official yet.

I would be stunned if they don't start especially since castillo has been routinely picked off the bench in world cup qualifiers. Corona has been called up so much for the camp you would be really surprised if he isnt starting by the Guatemala game. Honestly I think bedoya and gatt were his most likely challengers on the right side since donovan will slot in the cf role and beasley probably at left midfield. With gatt likely out for the knockout round and feilhaber as his likely replacement I could only see bedoya challenging at his position for the guatamela and group stage game.
