9 goals conceded thats just a disgrace. I can put pass spain putting 4 but ghana REALLY? what a poor way to go out. Tab Ramos is one of the most attacking coaches ive seen in the American system but he is also reckless and it cost us the a tournament in which we could have had made it to next round! Not a big deal because its U20 but we got humiliated.

Well what's been established is that there are players that have USMNT futures and there are players that don't.

I look forward to Yedlin, Gil, Cropper, and O'Neill's continued development. Players that I can see that was apart of this entire cycle move onto the USMNT player pool in the future: Gil, O'Neill, Zimmerman, Cropper, Yedlin, Rodriguez, Cuevas, Pelosi, Morris, Packwood

Players that were extremely average: Villarreal, Hernandez, Trapp, Joya, Stanko, Sorto, and Ocegueda.

Time to move on to the next cycle, and continue to find future USMNT players.

Should Tab Ramos continue as the U-20 coach? Maybe, but I wouldn't mind seeing Javier Perez of the U-18's move up to coach the 2015 U-20's.

Ok serious question here what would this team have looked like if we didnt have injuries, odd player selections, and other factors keeping players from suiting up (JAB). In other words what do you think our best team possible would have been. Keep in mind guys like Salgado, McBean, Guido, Keisewetter, Green, Salazar (just for you blaise), Zimmerman, JAB, Packwood, Bijev, Pelosi, etc.

I don't really know but ill throw this out there...
Cropper
Yedlin-Packwood-Brooks-?
Stanko-Pelosi
Villarreal-Gil-Cuevas
Rodriquez

Like I said I just threw this together I don't really know...

Its not embarrasing. When you take chances sometimes you fail. I'd rather lose 4-1 than dull 0-0 draws. You need to be an aggressive attack minded team to win nowadays. There's just too much talent to park the bus and be successful. Its a learning process that just started and will take time.

Can't continue blaming injuries on this tournament. With a country this size, 2 injuries shouldn't drop us to this level. It's more than that. Not saying you are Nick, you're calling out player selection as well.

Why at this level over and over again do we see their counter attacks result in 3v3's numerous times per game? Where is a defensive mid tracking back? The all out offense approach with serious negligence for defense... shocking. Sure, it can be exciting when we are playing an inferior team, but it doesn't work against teams that are better at pretty much everything.

3 Inner mids and none of them played the 'MB' position. None of them demanded the ball or moved for it enough.

Can't state it enough... dreadful soccer.

Yedlin was very exciting. Gil had his moments but dropped in and out at times, wish he demanded the ball more. Cropper played better and better as the tournament moved on. Cuevas was fairly exciting. O'Neill did pretty well.

Don't get me wrong i completely agree that we can't blame everything on injuries but I don't think this tournament was an accurate statement of our top youth talent. We have to remember that on average on a few of these guys will make it to the full national team and I think that it's more than likely that most of the players that make it from this level probably didnt feature in this team.

Most likely to feature of full team (in no order):
Yedlin
Brooks
Packwood
Pelosi

Agreed and realize most of these players won't be USMNT players, but would like players at this age to at least show promise. Some of the players seemed well out of the level required at this tournament / age level.

Perhaps not completely fair to say this after playing against France/Spain because these nations develop their talent at a younger age, our players seem to begin playing well into their lower twenties. Disappointing none the less.

U-23 Caleb Porter Award goes to: Tab Ramos

Tab Ramos blew the U-20 WC with his roster selection. He played it safe and went with the players he was familiar with. He should have better evaluated the players that weren't available for the qualifying tournament. His back line selection was his downfall and all his forward selections were the same player. Even Twellman said he didnt select the best players availalbe.

Casper the Ghost Award goes to: Gil and Villarreal

The fan favorite Gil was under-achieving in this tournament. Did well vs spain but was MIA for france and Ghana. His missed PK and two wiffs didnt help. Villarreal didnt do anything this tournament. Thats why Zardes starts over him for club.

Verne Troyer Award goes to: the entire U-20 team

This team was bossed at every 50/50 ball in the air and on the ground. They were too small and not a threat on corners or set pieces.

Jackie Robinson Award goes to: The future African American soccer players

The black players on france and ghana were bigger, faster, and stronger. This un-tapped demographic will change soccer in the US because the African Americans are bigger, stronger, and just as fast as their ancestors. Look at the NFL running backs, wide receivers, safety's, and cornerbacks and compare them to the ghana and france players. Not even close.

Most Valuable Player Award: Yedlin

Future USMNT star. He was a beast this whole tournament. Needs to get a little better with his decisions in the final 1/3.

Jedi Ghost Award: Zimmerman, Salazar, Morris, Salgado, Hurzeler, Brooks, Holmes, Green, kiesewetter.

These players should've been edited in every time you saw the bench, all standing in a group just like the ending scene of Return of the Jedi

Honorable mention

Caesar Chavez Award - admsghs27
Newbie Award - Jzaval01/EKneezy
Intern of the year award - Award aka 2 tone
Institution of Engineering and Technology Award - B shredders server
Doc Rivers Award - Nick4235

Freddy Adu Award - Muchadu

Blaise you crack me up sometimes. I blame Salazar for the U-20's failure. Did he really need to graduate?

of course it was good that they are changing the way they play. It about moving forward and im in that boat but you cant be disorganized in the back and the level we had in the centerbacks could have been better. Yes we were working to our strength but we were also working against ourselves leaving space in the back. Still and exciting young group of guys that will get better with time
