Confederations Cup starts tomorrow on ESPN.

This Japan team will surprise. They face Brazil who really need to win this tourney to show that they haven't gone stagnant.

Group A
Brazil
Japan
Italy
Mexico

Group B
Spain
Uruguay
Nigeria
Tahiti

Thats my prediction for the group stage.

that no tahiti miracle win!!!?!?!?!? but in all seriousness I see the semis being Italy vs NIgeria and Spain vs Brazil. I think Japan will show up strong, but fall to third on GD to a unconvincing Brazil team. finals Italy over Spain in a little redemption match

If Uruguay plays like they did during both the quarterfinal and semifinal game of the world cup then yeah that final versus Spain (if it pans out like that) will be one of the games of this new decade

I have a weird feeling that Mexico will do quite well. This of course is not based on any empirical evidence, just a feeling.

I say Brazil vs Uruguay and Japan vs Spain.

Brazil vs Spain. Spain wins in a close game.

Players to watch

Keisuke Honda
Suarez for obvious reasons
Cavani
Neymar
Balotelli
Marco Verratti awesome young player
Chicharito
Chepo not a player but needs a good showing or is out of a job
Kagawa needs to impress Moyes
Casillas
Torres impress Mourinho
Victor Moses same as Torres

Actually skangles you might be right. El Tri play their best against Mexico. Still I think they arent good enough but a win against any of these teams isnt out of the question.

Mexico I think will do well, because for the first time in a while they won't play a team that is defending with 11 men.

I wouldn't say horrendous, inconsistent. It all depends on how they hold up in the defensive third, they will score goals with Cavani and Suarez who is in great form.

Marco Veratti did not make Italy's final roster and I believe victor moses is injured and won't participate.

I wish the best to Tahiti as they were destroyed 7-0 to Chiles u-20 team last. Great confidence boster heading into the tourney

Yeah thanks for the update United. I hope Tahiti can get one goal. That would be their world cup. Scoring one goal.
