Sloppy game but I'll take the three points. Absolutely critical result. The US created some nice chances but just could not catch a break.

Not much to complain about. They were much better in the second half, and had opportunities to score more goals.

3 wins out of 3 and now sitting pretty atop of the HEX with 13 points.

Really I have to say Fabian is a better winger then LB. Getting Donovan back in September will make this team even more dynamic. Even if he doesn't start, he could be the USMNT wild card sub against Costa Rica and Mexico.

Who would have thought that Beasley would be the USMNT's best LB right now? Pretty crazy.

Zusi had a good second half not a very good first half.

Altidore a very good second half

Dempsey was meh throughout

EJ didn't show much, but he did have a shot on goal and kept the ball moving.

Besler had one mistake ,a dn continues to be the best USMNT CB right now

Gonzo still has a few mental lapses a game. Showed well in the second half, but Besler is cleaning up for him way to often.

Howard not much to do all night. Made the one save that needed to be saved.

Brad Evans: It will be nice to see an actual RB in September i.e. Dolo or Chandler. Acquitted himself well throughout this month, but in no way should he be the starter at RB going forward.

Fabian is a better winger then LB. Very strong showing for him getting two assists in two games.

Cameron really deserves a longer look being Bradley's CM partner. Great to have someone with his versatility.

Jones had a lot of problems against Honduras. Showed OK against Jamaica, but I still think that him and Bradley are not that solid of a pairing.

Castillo: Looks like Klinsmann may be looking at him as a winger/late sub player.

Looking forward to seeing what this team looks like in September. They should theoretically be stronger getting Dolo, Chandler, Donovan, and Shea back.

Costa Rica is winning 2-0 in the 63 minute against Panama. If this result holds it will be US-13, CR-11, MEX-8, HON-7, PAN-6.

I'm happy with this result, I cannot envision Costa Rica not getting one of the three spots at this point and the sooner that the teams at the bottom start the drop out the quicker we can qualify.

Ill complain about Klinsmann's roster selection:

mistake not starting castillo at LB and fabian at LW. Once again Fabian run on goal provided the goal.

Brad Evans held it down but he does too many back passes. I about ripped my TV off the wall when he didnt cut in to the box (46 min). He was wide open with the ball to go at goal and passed it back all the way to gonzalez.

Eddie Johnson had a weak performance

Zusi did ok, this time he was 2 for 10 on good crosses.

Costa Rica wins 2-0.

The US and Costa Rica are now well positioned for Brazil.

Gritty win. Bradley as usual was the man. Wish he got that goal that was booted over the post. Jones was erratic but like mlssoccer.com said Jermaine gonna Jermaine. Demps should have had a goal. There was a handball but whatever.

Gonzo was erratic early but settled.
Besler was awesome. Made some crucial tackles.
Evans was servicable. Really happy that he stepped up during these qualifiers.
Fabian should stay at left wing. He provided a great ball to Jozy for the goal.
Zusi was erratic but was lethal as the game went on.
Jozy looked frustrated then settled and got his goal.
Oh and Blaise's favorire player Brad Davis had a nice sub appearance.

13 pts. We are going to Brazil.

Zusi was involved in just about every single good U.S attacking play. He was the MOTM.

Bradley was solid but not as dominant.

Jozy is a solid striker. He only needs a few chances to change the course of a game.

Poor game from Jones and EJ.

Poor game from Jones and EJ.

This is your only point that I'd disagree with, but only half of it. While Jones did have a rough go of it for most of the game, EJ's high work rate was instrumental in keeping Honduran attackers from getting a lot of plays started from the left side.

Was that what he was in the squad for? Probably not...but it was an important job to have since Fab was getting forward so often and the Honduran attack is fairly pacey when playing down the wings.

I will say that EJ didn't particularly shine on the attacking side of the ball, but when you've just run full sprint back 70 yards to defend a developing counter-attack, I don't particularly blame him for not busting his hump to make the same run back up the pitch, especially since we couldn't really get anything going in terms of possession and sustained pressure until the end of the first half.

Not the best game for the yanks, but we got the job done and qualification is virtually a done deal.

I'll agree with you here. FJ needs to stay at LW and I guess I'll have to wait for the GC to see Castillo actually play. Brad Evans was serviceable and should be commended for stepping up but he can't keep out Chandler or Dolo. EJ was average and Zusi was really good in the second half. He was, like normal, 50/50 with his crosses but he had a lot of solid dead ball service.

- Fabian needs to be LM
- EJ is not good on the left, but he does well on the right
- Gonzo is really starting to get on my last nerve. He is not that good and keeps trying to do things that he is not capable of and he keeps giving away the ball in the defensive half
- Bradley did well, but we still need more from him. What he is capable of doing did not meet how he played
- Deuce needs to give a better effort. Now he plays for Tottenham and is the captain so he is too good to try as hard as everyone else. Lead by example, be willing to give blood for you team and country. We need better from him
- Brad Evans continues to impress. Only problem is that he is not that fast. He will get burned by fast players. He can do the job, and do it well, but he is not a starter
- Zusi did well, but I dont think he is a starter. He should be like our #1 option off the bench. Not that he is not good, or cant do well. He just is not what we need on the right side of the field.
- Jozy balled. He needs more support tho (Deuce making more of an effort)
- Besler did well. Rarely makes mistakes (unlike Gonzalez). I think that Besler should remain our LCB and that we should reevaluate our RCB issue

Best I can say for the U.S. performance is meh. Pockets of looking very good with most of the time looking mediocre. No rhythm, especially in midfield. Jones had one of his weakest games in a U.S. uniform, Deuce was invisible, Gonzo was constantly out of position, and EJ had too many of those 'run at the defender, do the predictable step over move, and get knocked off the ball'. Besler, minus the one HUGE giveaway in the first half, was my man of the match (maybe Jozy but he didn't get much of a chance on the ball which wasn't his fault). Beez rescued with defense with numerous last minute tackles and stayed cool all game. Play like that against a quality opponent and we'll get smoked.

Yea. I'm starting to wonder if Cam should take Gonzo's spot. He really has looked subpar every game. Just like... Very nervy. He needs to leave MLS. Besler deserves to leave but doesn't need to... Solid, very solid.

But now Jones laid an egg. I would like to see Jones step it back up and let Cam take over for Gonzo.
