You think it is Ruiz's job to calm the situation? He should've waited until something actually did hit him in the head? That's nuts. The Mexican players needed to stop getting in Ruiz's face and get the crowd to calm down.

If I'm Ruiz I milk that situation too... I can't belive how made Chicarito got at him.. Why would I want to walk toward a mob of fans throwing stuff that's bound to hit me, turn my back, and line up a Corner. I didn't think anything hit him either, but still F that

I dont think it was his job. But feigning like a bottle struck him in the head and acting like he got shot when it went over his head wasnt the best reaction. The way he reacted the previous corner (went over picked it up and showed the ref and played on) was awesome and I thought got the point across. Im glad he left the spot until it was safe, but acting like he got smacked makes him look like a sally

It's pretty clear that playing on the first time didn't get the point across, because the same thing happened again.

I would pay triple the prize fro ruiz over chicharito or any mexican player.. Chicharito might be the most overrated player ever.. He would be avarage in mls.. His just a poacher i bet everything i have if jozy was in man u he would easily eclipse the 40 goal mark...

Let's not be too biased or hyperbolic now Admsghs27. Jozy would definitely benefit from the top notch service at United but Chicha is still a quality player. Poaching is a skill that not a lot of people have and it will help you get results you sometimes shouldn't because of a player's instinctive knack for being in the right place at the right time. Just ask the Philadelphia Union.

No way as a player, would I walk into a corner knowing crap would be thrown at me. He was right to walk away period. The Mexican players if they were truly upset should have walked to the corner and asked them to stop throwing items at the Costa Ricans period.

There is no turning this on anyone else, especially Ruiz. It doesn't matter if he's hit or not, if people are hurling items at you, you don't know what could be next..

Truly disgusting behavior.

Oh... and Jozy wouldn't score 40 goals at United.. Sure, if he got playing time, he would score a lot imo, as most decent players would at a top team. Chicharito would have scored many many more goals last season if he were given playing time, he wasn't.

The refs awarded an astonishing 7 minutes of stoppage time so Mexico got all that lost time back and then some.
