JK want's proactive players, players like Mix are proactive because they take risks. Players like Sacha don't take risks aka are conservative and plays too safe. Sacha dominates the jupiler league great but never impressed when given the chance on the national team. He was much better during his chivas days than his Anderlecht days. Then again hard to take you seriously because you're so biased.

Most inaccurate post ever. Mix is proactive?? You realize he's. 24 year old who's never left his home country of Norway. He's had opportunities to leave and challenge himself and turned them down every time. Sacha moved from mls to Belgium and has played UCL football the last two years. There's no arguing Belgium is above Norway

welcome home old boy

represented US admirably in europe - nothing but solid contributions to league cups and european football with anderlecht

was hoping for LAG but NYRB wanted him a little more. looking forward to watching one of best CMs of his generation still right in the middle of his prime. nice grab for MLS

KLJESTAN SCORES IN DEBUT
It didn't take long for Sacha Kljestan to make an impact with his new club. The New York Red Bulls' big offseason prize scored his first goal of the preseason to give his team a 1-0 lead over Toronto FC heading into halftime in just his third day with his new club. Kljestan made his final appearance for Belgian side Anderlecht Sunday and then hopped on a plane for New York that night. With his physical done Monday, Kljestan arrived in Red Bulls camp in Orlando just after midnight Tuesday morning.

No surprise that a player in midseason mode is ahead of American MLS players.

Aside from that, this is a good move for both Sacha and NY. I mean aside from rain, nobody knows who the guy is- unless you are a hardcore soccer fan. He has a chance in the "new MLS" to sort of make a brand name for himself. I've always thought he was a good player.

Agreed, don't think anyone has doubted he is a good club player.

A lot of the "new" fans I would argue know nothing of Sacha. He's never really been a part of the USMNT despite Rain's PR work... And it's been awhile since he played in MLS. He's the most accomplished USA player who really isn't known much about unless you cared about chivas USA. Because no Americans watch Anderlecht or the Belgian league.
