(last thread had "2012" in title... and i coudnt find it...)

sacha with another massive goal in a huge playoff win for anderlecht. 4 goals, 8 assists not bad for deep-lying mid (even in belgium). title comes down to final game on sunday

i find it really odd that despite zero starts and very little PT under JK, seems like lots of people would rather see kljestan not make roster than actually get an opportunity at CM.

I would love for Kljestan to get time at CM, I get really annoyed and feel bad for him when Jurgen Von Klinsmanhammer plays him out of position on the wings. But, we could say that about a lot of players. He has merited a look in the middle if you ask me, especially in friendly's where we should be tinkering to find the right formula on the field... we clearly haven't found it yet.

with biglia off to lazio, possible that kljestan assumes more of an offensive role this season. i know its not norway, but...

sacha seems to be settling nicely in to more offensive role this season. opened the scoring for anderlecht for 2nd strait week and offense is humming with 13 goals through 4 games.

(past) time for JK to think about expanding kljestan's role for USMNT

He is always been in the conversation but considering our options on mid he has to be on fire always. More so for NT that he hasnt done except that good game with Bosnia.

Are you actually Sacha Kljestan or related to him in some way? Not saying its bad just never seen some pull for one player so much.

The problem with kljestan is if he is paired with bradley, who starts without debate, then bradley will have to hang back on defense more since kljestan is more attacking. Jones is the starter but if he for some reason can't play like against panama, I would put cameron in over kljestan so bradley has more freedom to go forward.

He looked like he wasn't good enough for the CM role for the NT against Belgium. But the way he played against Bosnia, he would be a good option if he kept that form up. Bradley, Jones, Mix, & Kljestan, would be good for me to take to Brazil.

Agreed Scout92. I think if I was picking a starter to pair with Jones I would pick Cameron for sure because Jones does also have a tendency to get forward with the NT which can lead to problems as we saw when those two were paired against Belgium. It must be said that that match was their first time playing together but still I'd wouldn't feel quite as uncertain about comfortable fielding Kljestan-Bradly.

Kljestan is a good player. His club accomplishments speak for themselves.

He's better than a lot of US players but finding a role with him in the US team is difficult.

I will say this, he's always looked a lot better coming off the bench

As long as he keeps that Pornstache, he should be allowed to play as much and wherever he wants

to avoid cluster in middle jones basically retreats between center backs when we have the ball - also this allows fabian and RB (cameron) to push up on wings. also klestan AND MB with freedom to go forward

(when we have ball)

True. Kljestan has generally looked better coming off of the bench under both Bradley and Klinsmann. Might be his role at the WC if he is taken.

Who does he sub in for though? In a competitive match I don't see Bradley or Jones going any less than 90 unless an injury or something like that.
