Here are my 5 players that have a legit USMNT chance this next year:

1. JAB: He will be starting in the Bundesliga, and quite frankly I am not sold on any current USMNT CB's just yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see JAB starting for the USMNT in Brasil.

2. DeAndre Yedlin: I already consider him a top 5 MLS RB, and his ceiling is extremely high at RB. Chandler has had his problems, and Dolo while one of my favorite players is starting to break down. Myers, Beitashur, Beltran, and Loyd are all good RB's, but Yedlin is one of those special RB's that comes along every 10 years or so. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Yedlin with the USMNT in Brasil.

3. Jose Villarreal: Whats his best position? I tend to think he is more of a CF underneath a striker. Has a lot of upside, but I think he may just get a January camp call-up and thats it. But if he has a breakout U-20 tournament then his stock will be very high.

4. Luis Gil: Has the ability to make everyone around him better. His goal scoring has gotten better, but I tend to think that he is more of a Xavi type of player versus a CAM/CF underneath a striker. With the USMNT I think his position will be as a #8 box to box AM. I think he could be a slam dunk for a January call-up, but I think making the 2014 WC will be a stretch for him.

5. O'Neill: A lot of things would have to happen for him to move ahead of other CB's in the USMNT pool, but he has been a regular for Colorado and a starter in quite a few games. Talented, but I think he is one for the 2018 cycle.

So really the two players who I think have the best chances of making the 2014 WC are Yedlin and JAB.

JAB & Yedlin definitely have the best chance. I think if Cuevas didnt get hurt he would be up there due to our need for an attacking wide players. If he earns minutes after the U20's in MX he could work his way into the discussion

Depending on how he does this summer in Toulan and Turkey, I would toss in Juan Pablo Ocegueda if he figures out his club situation. Him and Yedlin are emerging at a time without any major competition at those spots. With Fabian Johnson no longer being played as a LB Ocegueda has a chance

I like Cuevas but you have to go with players who have earned some sort of first team minutes with their clubs. I'm not sure where Cuevas fits with Santos right now. Benji Joya is probably ahead of Cuevas

1) JAB
2) Jose Villarreal
3) Luis Gil
4) Yedlin
5) O'Neill

In that order but I think all except for JAB are for January camp

I know jack mcinerny isn't playing with the u20s but i think he has as much of a chance of getting a call up as JAB he has been scoring goals and well we honestly do need a forward to help altidore
