Steve Cherundelo is the most dedicated USMNT player I have ever witnessed. Not one other player have I ever seen more dedication from. Steve did not decline an invite. The only slight possibility I can see is Hannover asking him to not come in, but if that were the case we would have heard about it like with Jozy's club. This is Jurgen's decision plain and simple.

I am aware of those instances, I am also aware of Danny's statements of suggesting that his position is really just DM, and of him being lackluster in those positions. I have no reason to believe he can play those other positions competently at this level, not even as a 3rd string. I think Jurgen is mostly talking about secondary use of him as RM/RW.

Actually Klinsmann stated in an interview that Williams was brought in to see where he was out with his game shape and because he provides an option at RB.

I'm ok with JK bringing in Williams and Shea to see where they're at. I think that's the point of having a camp and friendlies. I would expect that these guys would be dropped before the WCQs unless they really impress. If they do impress then it was a good idea to bring them into camp.

What I struggle with is the hypocrisy that says these guys haven't been playing for their clubs but we'll bring them in to see where they're at whilst simultaneously slamming the door on Donovan to say that there are other players ahead of him.

It's inexcusable to leave Donovan off of the training camp and friendlies roster. If JK wants to cut him after the friendlies because he failed to perform, then fine but to give players who haven't earned it a chance to impress and not give the greatest American player of all time a chance is bull sh*t.

I also find it ridiculous that Williams is being brought in specifically for his versatility where Landon can play RM, LM and Forward, all areas in which we've struggled tremendously lately.

I will preface this by saying I am not a JK defender and in fact am one of his bigger critics. However I can see some of his points and reasoning behind his decisions. Yes Gatt, Bedoya, Mixx, Lando, others are better than Brad Evans/Davis/D,Williams. However since he made it clear few if any players will be part of both WCQ and Gold Cup Id rather guys like Shea/Williams/et at sit on the bench in the WCQ than start in the gold cup. At least now we'll be able to see what Bedoya/Gatt/Mixx/Morales can do with more than a late minute sub appearance

I agree with the fact that players left off of this camp means they will be in the GC. (until JK's hypocracy kicks in) I still feel that Williams and Shea will be dropped before the WCQ and will be on the gold cup team. I just want the GC team to be a u-23 plus Donovan and Holden.. is that too much to ask?

Brad Evans added to roster. Now, common everyone, Brad Evans is currently better than Landon Donovan everyone knows that. His performance with the USMNT in January proved that.

Klinsmann brought in brad evan as depth at RB.

I would have brought in DeAndre Yedlin at RB instead

4 players that should never be called to the USMNT

Brad evans
Brad davis
Maurice Edu
kyle beckerman

Brad Evans is higher on depth for RB than Eric Lichaj? what? Brad Evans would fail miserably at RB in the premier league

Lichaj pretty much has failed as well. He has seen spot duty minutes. I like Lichaj, but him seeing a grand total of like 180 minutes the past 6 months isn't something to write about.

I would have brought in Farrell. Chance of Evans playing 1%. Barring some injuries in training camp or friendlies hes not going to see the field and most likely won even dress. You could argue Farrell might already be a better RB than Evans now and is only getting better.

Jurgen likes Evans so much because of his obsession with people who try really hard and are extremely motivated. That doesn't help the USMNT when you polarize too much on that.

Martinez is heading to Stoke. Does the rumor about JK going to Everton now heat up or fizzle?

I find it a little curious that Jurgen wrote this tweet on twitter:

"I am very happy with the #USMNT and will continue to work with the team as we try to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup."

Yea you never know how to take Jurgen's words. On one hand it sounds as if he will not be leaving....on the other hand it sounds like he's happy with the progress of the team and will stil help out in any way. The guy is to damn confusing lol...
