Poor Guy,
Personally like Adu, sad and kinda funny to see the path he's fallen on. I still think deep down there is some skill there. But reading the articles this manager DOES NOT WANT HIM, not sure why he keeps going to clubs with managers who have zero interest in him as if he is going to change their minds.

Find a club where they really want your celebrity and your soccer skills. If he can go from 2nd tier Turkey to a pretty decent gold cup a few years back he's still pretty young. I just don't think his head is really wrapped tight..he's an odd guy....

Adu strikes me as that guy at work who is better than average but who does not like his job. He knows that changing careers will mean a pay cut so he works only as hard as he wants to and not as hard as he should work.

Dude, he'll show up like twice in the first four weeks, and then disappear to the point where he won't even text back.

Looks like he is finally doing the right thing and not signing with a manager that does not want him. Good for him.... that manager may be 100% correct but that was really disrespectful and unprofessional

The manager comes off as more of a clown then Adu in all of this. How hard is it to speak in coach speak and say things like its a trial and we'll evaluate as we do all players. And then behind closed doors not give him a chance. But to come out and act like that Im guessing he'll be looking for a new job before the year is over.

I've known some Polish people to be pretty blunt in my experience, but yeah that was uncalled for to say publicly. That said, Freddy needs to find a new career.

Still haven't found a logical reason as to why we needed Adu to beat Panama, and get 2 goals against Mexico who we wound up losing 4 -2. Imagine 4- 0?

Listen I know it's fun to make fun

"Adu strikes me as that guy at work who is better than average but who does not like his job. He knows that changing careers will mean a pay cut so he works only as hard as he wants to and not as hard as he should work."

And I too, find it weird that I don't partake in this as much as I should.

But imagine that workplace, and this guy who absolute better than average and doesn't like his job, is doing his job 1000 times better than guys who show up early and wear the company colors on their sleeves.

Sure, you may fire the guy, but we're not talking about productivity now are we?

Everyone likes to point out Adu's trajectory, and it's been unfortunate, sad all of that's been described, and not one ounce of "if 2011 Adu shows up at camp with team appearances anywhere, he's still better than 75 percent of our squad in the attack"

Yes 75 percent, if Wondo, Bedoya even Agudelo etc still got call ups, 75 percent, easily.

Adu's done, this column shouldn't be about Adu any more.

What's not done is that fact. Although, with the younger players, I would say we're closer towards moving to that end.

It's funny in that Sciarretta video, because Adu does what noone else other than a certain midfielder does to help out our CM or CDM in order to create space.

And NO he doesn't make the final pass for the goal, of course that's our wonder boy. And the finish was crazy good from Dempsey. It wasn't academic after Adu's pass. But Adu's placement in that sequence LITERALLY reminds me of a certain player on our national team RIGHT NOW who people also rag on for not being who they want him to be.

And who can dribble the daylights out of opponents and help us retain possession.

That video also strikes me as odd because the commentators glee over Donovan being a "game changer" when the match was in the 76th min and Adu had been on the pitch for less than 10 min.....

Again i feel bad for this kid but then again i don't. He's made the decisions that has got him into the crapfest he's in now. But i feel bad because he's got talent. People rave about Darlington Nagbe, but I'm sorry, i just don't see it. He gets away from a defender here and there, but other than that he and Kellyn Acosta are just as much Hype than show.

The video people need to watch is the video with him at the Philly Union, in the video alone should have close to double digit assist. I still say his teammates were really jealous of him there, you can see by some of the goals actually made, they celebrate without him. Pajoy and Jack Mcinerney are probably two of the worst Strikers a guy like Adu could have on his team.... if he doesn't have a manager that hates his guts he has teammates that belong in China's 4th division of soccer lol....

It's not about feeling bad for Adu.

When I think about 2011 Gold cup, panama beating us, then us struggling against Panama until Adu came on, then getting two goals from Adu being involved too against Mexico...I feel bad for us.

This was the cup Agudelo played, Bedoya started to get his minutes.

Also feel bad if you think there's nothing special about Nagbe, because since he was added, (shots on goalie) our defense has started to solidify. Because most of the problems were in midfield and getting rushed on through the middle.

Nagbe is way different tho. He's a likable guy, people love him. Those who play with him on his club team adore him. If Arena doesn't call him up, he'll just go "eh" and earn his paycheck at his club team. He's got that over Adu, at least.
