His refusal at humility is becoming pretty comical. Clearly, he needs to aim lower. You would think most of these guys love the game so much they do anything to find a team and get a full season in with at least 25 appearances. I wonder how he is w/ money. Hopefully he's kept a couple $mil in the bank. Actually, he's probably now well qualified to write a travel book.

He was on a high contract with MLS but I think he should swallow his pride an sign a more realistic contract of say $125-150k which is a lot of money. Freddy's name is big and from a marketing standpoint he'll want to cash in on it but I don't think his name is worth more than a salary in that range until he proves himself. For whatever rumors are worth it sounds like he is still looking for a salary much higher than that.

If he doesn't want to take a more realistic MLS contract, he should sign a short term contract with NASL where he will definitely feature and can show off his creativity in order to gain the attention of bigger clubs.

I watched the Atlanta-Chicago us open cup game, Atlanta can play. Perhaps even Atlanta Silverbacks are too good for Adu. He should be a guidance counselor after he goes to college 2Tone. Or a motivational speaker.

His mother wanted him to become a doctor when he was 14. He is a bit to old to start. Maybe a communications career or or counseling or maybe coaching. Because soccer no more he is done.

He should have a reality show that would follow his attempts to get a contract. At least we would all get to see the "behind the scenes" determining factors that keep killing his opportunities.

But that would blow the whole mystery.

Maybe he's just addicted to the perpetual attention.

I'd really like to know whether these teams don't think Freddy can contribute or whether they don't think he's worth the money that he is demanding.

Skangles,

I was just thinking that. IMO I think it is the later. They just don't think he's worth the money that he is demanding. They think he is good enough to be a rotational player, but not a regular starter and/or star, but he wants star type money.

Kid just isn't realistic. No self-awareness.

Freddy Adu is like the Kim Kardashian of US Soccer. He is just a celebrity, doesn't really produce anything.

Stop assuming Adu is making outrageous demands...

"Some leagues have always put up obstacles that hindered the arrival of American players, such as restrictions on squad places for foreigners and, for example, the Dutch Eredivisie's minimum non-European Union salary of around $600,000 a season for players older than 21."

Thats from an mlssoccer.com article a couple years ago. So it was always going to be tough for Adu to earn a spot in the Netherlands.

Is Adu a drug addict ? Or Alcoholic ? Maybe both. Something is wrong in his life. He probably needs help.
